Well my lovies, just some information and clarification. The next two chapters are extremely short, so I will be posting chapters 7 and 8 similtaneously. It's just a technical issue for me and nothing to do with the story line. Enjoy and don't forget to comment and hit the star. 😘
Cynthia heard the door slam. She knew Freddie left the flat. Where he was going, she had no idea, but she knew she couldn't let him stay with her, although she wanted him desperately.
She cried herself to sleep knowing she would never see him again and it was killing her. All she could do is dream about him.
*9 MONTHS BEFORE
"Well Cynthia, everything appears to be fine. Your blood chemistry is perfect but....."
"But, Dr. Connelly.....?" Cyn asked nervously.
"Look, I don't want you to get unduly concerned, but you have what appears to be a tiny, rice-grain-size node on your left lung. Now I know you don't smoke and haven't been in any environmentally hazardous areas, so it's probably an artifact. We have moles and tags externally, but we also have them internally as well". She let out a loud gasp. The doctor told Cyn that she would have to take a CAT scan at three month intervals to check on its growth, if any. It was the usual medical practice of "wait and watch." Cyn nodded in a daze. What if it was cancer she thought?
BACK TO LONDON 1983
She had already taken 2 scans and nothing had changed, but the third was coming up when she returned to America. She was beginning to be captivated by Freddie and was afraid to pursue a significant relationship. Who knew what life could possibly have in store for her....maybe cancer. Cynthia was so smitten by Freddie, and sexually, she had never experienced anything like last night. She knew she would never have sex like that with anybody else, but this way, it was better for both she and Freddie, she thought, to make a clean break. It was a hard decision, battling between her heart, her body and her mind. Cynthia never felt drawn to anybody as she did with Freddie. Her body yearned for him and reacted to her thoughts ,while her mind had to be the deciding factor on what to do. She listened to her mind.
She couldn't have mattered that much to him, it was a one night fling, although sensational. He had the world at his feet, men and woman galore just for the taking. She was sure he wouldn't be that upset, just a little ego bruising, is all.
She awoke at 6 AM and called her agent to tell him that she no longer needed the flat and then called her team to make arrangements for her to leave that day. She wasn't taking any chances on running into him and hurriedly packed, but she also didn't want to ruin her teams few days left in London. She made arrangements for two rooms at the Ritz for three more days.
Cyn was thinking about Freddie constantly. His voice, his eyes, (ah, those mesmerizing eyes) his lips, his body! Just thinking about him made her quiver.
She sat quietly on the plane as it made its way back to New York. Cynthia sighed as she looked out the window.
