Sir Peter sat at his desk trying to makes sense out of all the bits and pieces he got from this case. It wasn't just another Scotland Yard case. This involved a high profiled American business woman doing business in London with Elton John for Live Aid, and ostensibly Freddie Mercury's love interest. This case was going to gather an unbelievable amount of publicity and must be handled with care and due diligence.

With Mercury breathing down my neck, he thought, I better get some answers.

"Sir Peter, Freddie Mercury is here seeking an audience" said he secretary.  Sir Peter nodded.

Freddie walked into the office with a flair and a kind of majesty that exudes from his pores. He is not a man to put off.

"Sir Peter" as Freddie offered his hand to shake.

"Mr. Mercury" as he shook Freddie's hand.

"Please, Freddie."

"So, Sir Peter, what have you found out so far?" Freddie asked.

"Well, you know Freddie, we aren't at liberty to discuss ongoing cases."

"Really, " Freddie said, standing, " so you're not interested in any information that I have?" Saying that, Freddie turned and walked towards the door with a smirk on his face unseen by the commissioner.

"Wait, Freddie, you have information relevant to this case?" asked Sir Peter.

"I have information regarding the love of my life, lying in a hospital bed, scared to death of me because she thinks I'm a vampire or a panther. She has not come down from her hallucinations." Shouted Freddie at the commissioner  as he turned around with his face red and enraged.

"Quid pro quo commissioner?" Freddie asked with one eyebrow raised.

Sir Peter stared at Freddie, rose from his chair and with his hands out in supplication, threw them up, sighed and said, "have a seat Freddie."  This not an uneducated man no matter how flamboyant on the stage  he thought, I must be careful, if I irk him, the public will demand justice for him and his.

"You first, Sir Peter. I know I will tell you what I know, but...." Freddie said.

"Alright, alright. The man in custody is Thomas Haskins, a small-time thief and part-time drug dealer. He won't tell us who the ring leader is except that he is well connected in important circles and feels relatively safe. He was told to give Ms. Lewis the shots because he owed money to this syndicate and  doing this would get him off the hook. It seemed to be important that he do this. He didn't want to  kill her, he  just had to get her out of the way." Sir Peter finished and waited for Freddie to begin.

"Wait, before I tell you,  for what reason  did he have to get her out of the way?" Freddie asked.

"To get to you!" said Sir Peter.

Freddie just stared at the commissioner not  knowing how to react to this information.

Freddie started to nod his head and asked for a glass of water.

"How about some tea?" Sir Peter asked.

"Perfect, sugars and a splash of milk" Freddie answered.

They both sat still staring at each other and the commissioner was astute enough to know Freddie had something important to say and needed a bit of a breather. The tea was brought in and Freddie had a sip and put the cup down and started.

"What I tell you is in complete confidence, is it not?" Freddie asked.

"Yes, of course" replied Sir Peter.
