Kageyama's POV
I sighed when I heard arguing. Well. Kind of arguing. I could hear Tsukishima and Yamaguchi making a fuss about the stars again. Hmph. I understand that there are a lot of them, but do we truly need two deities taking care of them all.. I walked over to where the noise was before turning to face Tsukishima.
"What's going on?" I asked, Tsukishima sighing.
"Yamaguchi wants me to resize the stars for him." He said, Yamaguchi huffing.
"I had an idea for a constellation but I need a bigger star for the eye!" He said as Tsukishima resumed saying how difficult it was for him to change the stars. I just listened to their conversation in silence. At least it was a little amusing.
Tsukishima's job was to raise the stars each night and the clouds each day as the moon or sun are raised . And Yamaguchi's job was to arrange the stars in the right spots and make sure the clouds never congregate too much in one spot. Which he did, but he also seemed to always have new ideas of arranging them so they make animals in the sky.
Finally, they agreed on something. And by agree on something, I mean I heard Tsukishima say he would do what Yamaguchi wanted. The two did their jobs in silence. Tsukishima changed what he was told to do before he joined me to sit where we could get a perfect view of the sky each night.
"Tsukishima?"
"Yeah."
"What is the day like?" I asked suddenly, Tsukishima sighing while I could hear Yamaguchi humming a bit in the distance while he worked on this new constellation.
"It's bright. Too bright."
"Surely your clouds help cover the light."
"Eh, some. Depends on the day. But Hinata really makes sure that the sun shines ridiculously bright."
"Hinata. He's the god of the sun. I've never seen him."
"Of course you've never seen him. For one, you're the god of the moon. Second, you're both in charge of different times of day, and third, you're-"
"Tsukki! Come look at my constellation!" I heard Yamaguchi shout. Tsukishima got up and walked over to where Yamaguchi was. I could hear Yamaguchi happily explaining it to him. Seems he enjoyed making a bear. But it was lonely. So he had made it a baby bear.
After Yamaguchi was finished explaining his work, both of them returned to sit on the luxurious area with me. It was nice sometimes that the humans would build us such places in our honors. It gave us nice places to rest or stay while we did our work for them.
I had little else to do for the rest of the night. Really, my only job was to make sure nothing interfered with the moon and that everything stay dark at night. So, I leaned back and closed my eyes. I wonder just how bright the day could be.
Next Morning: Hinata's POV
"Hinata!" I turned around, smiling when I saw Yamaguchi. Tsukishima was sitting on a cloud watching us with a raised brow.
"Hi Yamaguchi. How was last night?"
"Great! I made two new constellations that were supposed to look like bears!"
"Awww, that sounds cute." I said with a giggle, Yamaguchi nodding as he turned his attention back to separating the clouds. Tsukishima hopped down to join us on the high ledge where normally we'd stay to work. Well, were supposed to.
There were times I'd wander off and try to go into the villages and cities. The people would always recognize me though. I've tried to wear cloaks or other coverings to hide myself, but it never seems to work. The only time I've ever gotten to wander about in relative peace was at night.
I wasn't even supposed to be out at night really. I was suppose to be resting so it'd be easier to raise the sun and dawn every single day. But the night was really interesting. There were different creatures that would come at night. And it was colder. And the stars and moon were very nice.
Even though I've snuck around at night, I've never gotten to meet Kageyama. I kinda want to. He's the god of the moon and of the night. So, he has to be just as cool as the night, right? Probably, I dunno. I've met pretty much every other god, goddess, and deity. Even the scary ones.
But Kageyama was the one I've never seen because of how we were pure opposites. I mean, his dad's name was literally Chaos.
"Hey Yamaguchi, I'll be back."
"Huh? Where're you going?"
"I'll be back!" I said with a giggle and rushed off to go find someone who I knew has met Kageyama. Well, Tsukishima and Yamaguchi have met him, but neither of them will really talk about him to me. Tsukishima is normally being lazy and sleeping on clouds while Yamaguchi would be making them look all cute in the sky.
It was pretty easy to find who I was looking for. He spent all his time in the forests with the god of the forest. I guess it made sense though, he was the god of animals, hunting, nature, all that stuff so this was a good place for him to hang around.
"Suga??? Sugaaaa!"
"Hello Hinata, what're you doing all the way down here?" Suga asked as he walked out from behind a tree. I smiled happily at him.
"Oh! There you are! I wanted to ask you about something."
"Alright?"
"What's Kageyama like?"
"Kageyama?"
"Uh huh! I've never really gotten to meet him, and in the however many years old I am, I'd like to know about him before I do!"
"You're supposed to meet Kageyama??"
"Well... No. But I want to."
"Hinata."
"What? I've met the god of death before! I think I can handle the god of night!" I said, Suga laughing faintly. He turned his head when an animal slinked out from hiding and put it's head in Suga's palm. Suga gently pet the animal before turning back to me.
"You really don't listen to rules, do you Hinata?"
"Hey, we're the gods here!"
"Fair point I suppose. But even all of us have guidelines set by nature."
"Pleaseee?" I said with a smile, Suga smiling faintly and sighing.
"Okay, alright. I'll tell you what little I know about him. Which isn't much. I've only met him once, and it was quite a long time ago. But please be careful. Intertwining day and night can be disastrous."
