Daichi's POV
"DAICHI, SUGAAA?" I heard, turning my head just in time... to be knocked over by Noya. He landed on top of me, knocking both of us onto the ground.
"...Yes, Noya?"
"Aha, sorry. Anyway, I have some good news!"
"What is it?" I asked as we both got up.
"I spotted Kageyama and Hinata. They're both okay. At least I'm pretty sure. They're coming back here." Noya said quickly. I widened my eyes slightly before rushing off to go find Suga to let him know. Suga has had to abandon his search for the two, per my orders. But he remained worried sick about it.
Finally I found him in a bear cave... Great. I may be good with trees and the small animals that live in and under them. But not so much with the much, much larger creatures.
"Suga..?" I called into the cave, stepping further in to see his head in the bear's mouth.
"Uh huh?"
"Suga..! What are you doing...!" I said alarmed, Suga giggling.
"Relax he isn't gonna eat me. He has a sore tooth, that's why he hasn't been eating. Isn't that right baby?" Suga said, pulling his head out of the giant jaw and rubbing the bear's tummy. I stared for a moment before laughing faintly.
"...Okay. Well, Noya has returned. And he said he saw Kageyama with Hinata coming back home."
"They're okay!?"
"Yes. It appears so." I said, Suga abandoning the bear and crashing into me.
"I was so worried that they would be gone forever...!" Suga cried out. I smiled faintly, holding onto him.
"They're okay Suga.. Calm dow- hey!" I said while trying to comfort Suga when suddenly the bear sauntered over and decided to grab Suga away from me. The bear sat back with Suga in it's embrace, making Suga giggle.
"Aw, sorry. I didn't finish your belly rub did I? I promise I'll give you extra tummy rubs, but I need to go do something first." Suga said to the bear. The bear let out a growl and let go. I stood there a little dumbfounded but shook my head and rushed off with Suga to go find Hinata and Kageyama.
Suga and I ran back to where Noya had crashed into me, and we found him heading back home. Before he could leave, he told us where he saw them, and we headed there. I knew the forests here better than anyone or anything, so it was easy enough to find them. When Suga saw them, he ended up running over quickly. Hinata slid off of the, was that a Nightmare?
"Suga!" Hinata said happily, giving Suga a tight hug.
"Hinata... Are you okay? What happened? I'm so sorry-"
"Suga I'm okay, I promise. But we have a bigger problem." Hinata said, looking up at me once I caught up. He and Kageyama explained rapidly what happened. I always knew how the creatures at night came to be, but I've never heard of one like this.
"What do we do about it?" I asked Kageyama. He may be young, at least to gods. But he was the god of night and of these creatures. He knew best in these situations. Or he should.
"...I don't know. I've never even considered trying to kill or get rid of one of these things. I don't know how to. I don't know if they can be killed. I know Fenrir has survived the impossible, but, never the ghostly creatures like this one." He admitted quietly. We all exchanged glances when Suga tilted his head and asked.
"Can we asked Tanaka or Kiyoko? Both are god and goddess of war and wisdom. Maybe they'd know."
Tanaka's POV
I watched as the villagers started fighting among each other. Welp, my work is done here. I returned to Olympus and to the grand home of all the gods and goddesses of Athens. When I walked in, I was ran into by someone.
"Ow- Hey watch where you're-!" I paused, another god getting off of me quickly and helping me up.
"I'm so sorry. I was hurrying to offer help to a nearby village. They're speaking of beginning a war..!" He said. I widened my eyes and whistled slightly.
"...How awful."
"I know, I- Hey, wait a minute... You're Tanaka.. The god of war- what did you do!"
"...Nothingggg." I said with a small smile.
"...I hope so." He said, walking past me to leave.
"Hey wait, who're you???"
"I'm Ennoshita. The god of healing and medicine. I'm sorry that I cannot stay, but I do need to see how I can offer my help." He said with small smile. I nodded and watched him go. Wow, I knew there was a god of healing but in all these years I've never really gotten to see him.
"Hey Tanaka!" I turned around to see Daichi walk over, along with Suga and Hinata and Kageyama.
"Hey, you two are alive." I said to Hinata.
"Huh? You knew we were gone?"
"It's a little hard to not notice when the sun doesn't rise for a week." I said with a smile, Hinata turning red from embarrassment. I asked what all of them were up to, and boy did I get a lot more than I asked for. Kageyama explained to me what had happened to them in their absence and if I knew what to do.
"Sorry to tell you guys, but I'm the god of war between humans. Not of mythical creatures."
"So.. You've never even heard of one of these creatures being killed?"
"No, no one has dared to try and kill those things. Or if they have, it's never been successful."
"Oh.."
"I'm sorry I can't be of more help. Have you spoken to Kiyoko?"
"Yeah, she said the same thing."
"Huh. These things are magical, right?"
"Yes."
"Try the god of magic."
"There's a god of magic?" Hinata asked with a titled head.
"....Yes. Gee, how old are you? You need to brush up on your history there pal." I said, Hinata blushing again. Daichi pat his shoulder before nodding and saying that they would find a way to contact him. Well, contact him via Noya. He was the fastest way between villages, cities, land, worlds, anywhere really. Being the messenger god has its perks.
