Same Day: Bokuto's POV
Uh, god of love. God of love. Where do I- Oh I know! I returned to the surface and looked around before saying this, I don't know, chant? That is used to let the god of love know someone's requesting his help. While I was waiting, I looked quietly out at the water.
I was still upset I lost a fight to Athena, well now Kiyoko, TWICE. But, I have to give it to her, she's strong. And it isn't fair, she's the goddess of war AND of wisdom. All I was in charge of was, water. That's really it. I mean, all I would've really gotten was a city named after me. But still, wouldn't that be cool as anything?
Like imagine how cool it would be to have a city named after you. It's been so many years, I don't think I even remember why we fought. Was it just for the name? I have no idea, I try to not think about it all the time. And Kiyoko was right, I need a new habit instead of annually bothering her when she'd pass by to see the festival of Athens. Hopefully, I could find someone new to bother or talk to with the help of whoever this god of love is.
"Are you the one who called for me??" I turned around, seeing a man in, definitely deity clothing.
"Uh huh. You the god of love?"
"Sure am. I can see you aren't just some lovesick human though. Who're you?"
"I'm Bokuto. God of the seas."
"Ohhh, so that's what you look like."
"What's that supposed to mean..?!"
"I dunno I imagined you with like, fins."
"....Well, I- never mind. I need your help."
"So rare for another god to ask me for help. What is it?"
"I just need advice..."
"Oh?"
"So, there's another deity who lives in the water. And, I wanna meet him. But he won't even look my way. Or when he does he just glares."
"Who is he?"
"I don't know, I haven't gotten to talk to him yet."
"Do you know what his magic is?"
"Well, I know that he has to be the god of the creatures and life in the sea since I'm not."
"Well then use that to get to talk to him."
"Huh?"
"Go get a bouquet of aquatic flowers and present it to him. Talk to him about what he does." I tilted my head. I never thought to do that.
"That's a good idea..!"
"I hope it goes well for you. You know I'm all for love."
"Hey, what's your name?"
"Kuroo."
"Well, thank you for the help, Kuroo."
"Sure thing. Next time, you can just call me by name and I'll hear you." Kuroo said with a smile. I nodded as Kuroo turned off to leave. Hopefully his advice would work. I went around and found the best flowers I could find. They were rare too. Normally, no one else would be able to get them from the water currents and the creatures that lived here, but none of them even tried to harm me.
Even if I wasn't the god of sea life, the creatures here knew better than to try and hurt me. Once I gathered the flowers and other sea leaves, I tried to arrange them so that they'd be appealing. I don't know, would he like this? or would he be mad at me for plucking flowers from the flower beds???
I took in a breath and thought what else do I got to lose. I already lost to a girl about 200 years ago. A kickass girl... But that aside, I wandered back to where I'd always see this guy. And I found him sitting in a deep-sea coral reef. An octopus on his arm while it was doing, I'm not sure what it was doing but it looked cute.
I watched for a few moments as he gently removed the octopus and guided it back to a nice crevice for it to hide inside of. After gather some courage, I swam over with the bouquet behind my back.
"...Um, hi." I said, the deity looking over.
"Hello."
"What're you doing..?" I said a bit awkwardly. Inwardly, I was smacking myself. You know, for a god, you think I'd be better at talking...
"I'm making sure this reef is healthy."
"Oh, that's, cool."
"I agree."
"So, uh, I have something I want to show you.." I said, the deity looking at me a bit curiously. I blanked out for a second because I was lost in his beauty before I shook my head and held out the flowers.
"I see that you have found some of the most difficult flowers for me to grow." He said with a small smile. Oh no...-
"Ah! I'm so sorry, I had no idea that these were hard for you to grow! I can go put them back, but I-"
"Don't worry. I've been looking forward to growing more anyway." He assured me, taking the flowers.
"Sorry..."
"Don't be. You're Bokuto, right?"
"Huh? How do you know my name?"
"Well we have lived in the same seas for a few thousand years together. All the animals know of you."
"They do?"
"Yes. They quite like you. They say you keep the water just right for them."
"Really?" I asked a bit excitedly. I was happy that even the creatures here thought that.
"Yes. I'm Akaashi."
"Akaashi... Nice to meet you!"
"Nice to finally meet you as well." He said with a small smile, looking down at the mix of flowers and kelp in his hands. I was a bit worried he'd be upset I plucked them, but before I could ask again, he looked at me.
"Would you like to come with me to grow more?"
