Iwaizumi's POV
Huh? Where did all of my glass go?
"Hey Iwa-chan. Whaddya think?" I turned around, widening my eyes to see my materials for potions has been turned into a mirror.
"...Oikawa. What are you doing..?"
"Look, it's a mirror, that is portable and can be handheld!" He said and presented it with a smile. I sighed and shook my head, walking over and taking the little mirror from him.
"This is supposed to be used for potions. Not to boost your vanity." I said, Oikawa pouting. I took apart his little mirror as he watched like I was doing something horrifying.
"Iwa-chan..!" He whined in my ears as I dumped the broken shards back into their basket. Once I had no more glass in my hands, I turned around and cupped his cheeks firmly.
"You do not need a mirror to just carry around to check how you look constantly."
"Yes I do..! I'm literally the god of vanity."
"I'm not letting what happened to Narcissus happen to you."
"I'm not gonna go stare at myself in a pond or anything till I die..."
"Well I'm not taking that chance. Besides, you always look beautiful, you've nothing to worry about."
"Really?"
"Yes. Now leave my stuff alone." I said, letting go of his cheeks. I turned back around to make sure I had some of everything before I felt Oikawa's arms wrap around my neck from behind.
"Iwa-chan, do you really mean all that stuff?"
"Yes."
"Aw, so you do care about me!"
"...Oikawa. We have branded each other over two centuries ago. Yes I care about you." I grumbled, Oikawa laughing and hanging onto me. He's been clingy ever since I met him. And I knew there was no use prying him off of me, so I let him wander about my home with me.
He only let go of me when there was a knock at the old wooden door. He answered it for me, but no one was there. There was only a letter left there. It wasn't uncommon for that to happen. Humans always would ask for my help, but never want to face me.
"What does it say Oikawa?"
"Not sure, here, you can take a look." He said, handing it to me. I opened the letter and read it through quietly. Interesting, it isn't from a human. It's from some of the gods who live in Olympus.
"What is it Iwa-chan??"
"Kageyama has asked me what I know about those creatures he creates."
"Who?"
"Moon."
"Ohhh. Doesn't he already know everything about them?"
"Apparently not. At least not one of them." I said, setting the letter aside and grabbing a few books from the shelves on the walls. Oikawa read the letter curiously while I flipped through the pages. My specialty was magic, not creatures. So I unfortunately would be little use to them. There was a human mortal however who had, a strange extensive knowledge of magical creatures. And he happened to live in this same village.
Kenma's POV
"Hi kitten."
...Well. This isn't what I was expecting to return to when I came home from work.
"What are you doing?"
"C'mere." He said as if he weren't in MY house on MY bed, half naked. I sighed and walked over to him, being pulled into his grip.
"You know. For the god of love, you're awful clingy." I grumbled while being held down by Kuroo. I don't know what on earth I did, but one time, Kuroo was in our village helping two people out when he saw me. And since then he hasn't left me alone.
"I just love you Kenma."
"Don't you love everyone?"
"No, I help everyone love everyone but that doesn't me I love everyone." He said with a smile, leaning down and kissing me. He's been doing this for a few years now. And I didn't mind. It must be rare for a god to find an interest in a human. And there was no denying this god was attractive and knew what he was doing.
"Kuroo.."
"Are you enjoying yourself?"
"Well yes, but get off." I said, Kuroo looking at me surprised before pouting and climbing off of me. He sat there while I got up and gathered the books I had set down and went to put them away. Kuroo just watched me from my bed before he sighed.
"Hey are you ever gonna come with me to talk to the god of immortality?"
"I don't know."
"You shouldddd."
"I don't know if I want to become immortal."
"But then you'd get to spend your eternity with me." He said with a grin. I wasn't even looking at him and I could hear the smirk. Spending an eternity with Kuroo didn't sound so bad in all honesty. But still, I never imagined the thought of becoming immortal. It was a dream come true for a lot of humans, especially the ones who would always be trying to seek out fountains of youth. None of them made it.
"Kuroo, I still don't-" I was interrupted by my bedroom door swinging open.
...Don't gods knock?
"Hello Kenma."
"....Hi, Iwaizumi."
"Do you know anything about a creature that matches this description." He said, holding out a paper to me. I blinked a few times, reading the paper before nodding.
"Kind of. Why?"
"How would you kill it."
"Kill it?"
"Yes."
"Aren't those the creatures that are created from Kageyama?"
"Yes."
"Oh, well then they're pretty hard to kill."
"...How is it he's the only one who knows about these things and he's the only mortal?" Iwaizumi asked to Kuroo who was in the room. Kuroo gave a confused shrug as I sighed.
"You gods are too busy doing whatever it is you do to actually study this stuff. I don't have the eternity you do to lallygag so I spend it learning." I said calmly. Both the gods in my room shrugged as I explained what I knew about the shadow creatures. Iwaizumi thanked me and headed out quickly.
Once he was gone, I sighed and was grabbed by Kuroo again. I just let him hold me while I looked at the wall of books I had built. I never met Kageyama, the god of the moon, but I knew that all of those shadows he made were dangerous. If he's looking to kill them, he might be in a world of trouble.
