Few Days Time Skip: Suga's POV

"Suga, slow down you're already tired. Stop exerting yourself." Daichi called after me. I stopped in my tracks, looking back at him with a huff.

"But now both Kageyama AND Hinata are missing! And it's my fault.."

"How many times have I told you in just an hour that it isn't your fault..? You just tried to make sure that they were both healthy. No one would have known about this." Daichi said, catching up and grabbing my hand.

I held onto him tightly before looking up. The sky was still sunless, and surely it had to be time for night soon. Wherever Kageyama is, he can still raise the moon. But what if he's collapsed from exhaustion or something hurts him??? The last few nights, the moon has risen like normal, but what if it doesn't tonight?

Sure he doesn't have to worry about shadow monsters like the rest of us, but I'm certain there's other dangers out there. I leaned into Daichi's chest tiredly, letting him pick me up.

"Suga, we can't search the whole earth for them. We need to stay relatively close to Athens."

"But-"

"We'll search at least each forest anywhere near here. Then we're going home. Okay?"

Kageyama's POV

"Ugh.. Where are you taking me..?" I grumbled, burying my face into the Nightmare's mane. It wasn't real fire unless she got mad, so I was fine. When I lifted my face, I could smell citrus, but it wasn't Hinata's natural scent.

"Oh my go- please tell me that you didn't take me, to an orchard...!" I whined, burying my face in my hands. I was exhausted, and I have no idea where we are. It wasn't the Nightmare's fault, she was just following the scent I had provided for her...

"Hinata! Are you here!" I shouted.

"No. But your Nightmare is trampling my garden." I turned my head to the sound of a voice.

"Who's there?"

"Me."

"....Well. Who are you?"

"My name is Ushijima. I'm the god of the crops and harvest."

"Oh. I'm Kageyama. Have you seen the god of the sun anywhere..?"

"No." He said calmly. I sighed and nodded, turning to look down at the Nightmare.

"He isn't here girl. Come on, let's go. Sorry for trampling your garden, Ushijima." I said, patting the Nightmare's neck for her to turn. Before she could turn around to go, something hit me and knocked me to the ground. Ushijima made a noise of pain, indicating he was hit as well.

The chilling noise I had heard a few days ago returned and then disappeared just as quickly. I got up, Ushijima standing as well.

"Kageyama. Are you alright?"

"Yeah, you?"

"Yes. What was that creature?"

"I don't know."

"You are the god of night, aren't you? You should have known what that was."

"...What did it look like?"

"It was black, like a shadow." Ushijima said. I furrowed my brows slightly. Shadow? None of the shadows can hurt me though. There's no way it was what I was thinking.

"That's, strange. I've never encountered any shadow that could hurt me. I'm sorry, come on I need to leave." I said, finding the Nightmare again and climbing back on her. She turned and rushed away as I blinked a few times. Whatever that thing was, I could tell it was strong. I hope it doesn't hurt anyone else.

Ushijima's POV

Hm. That Nightmare just trampled all of my seeds. And singed them. I kneeled down, discarding of the burnt seeds before placing new ones in the ground. I covered them in soil and waved my hand over them, watching them sprout.

The sight always enlightened me. But I wasn't exactly happy about that creature that just attacked me, and Kageyama. It was surely a shadow creature of some type. Only the shadow creatures looked the way that thing did. But this one was somehow different.

Well, as long as it never returns, I don't care.

"Hinata. Hinata. Where have I heard that name?" While I was trying to think, something was put on my head. I glanced up to see a bug. I stared back at it as it dangled in front of me before I just reached out and picked it up and set it back on the ground.

"Aw come on!"

"I'm used to your tricks, you've been doing them to be for 500 years." I said, turning around to see Tendou. He crossed his arms with a huff.

"I'll find a new trick that scares you one day." He said with a small smile.

"Okay."

"So, what were you talking to yourself about?"

"Do you know who Hinata is?"

"Oh sure, sun god. But based on the last few days, he's been slacking off." Tendou said, looking up at the sunless sky. I looked up as well before nodding.

"They need to find him."

"Messing with your crops huh?"

"Yes." I said, looking around. I can only grow the plants so much. I needed the assistance of the sun and rain, other works from the other gods to keep everything healthy. The only thing I could do is ensure that the people don't completely starve to death. But food would be scarce without the sun to grow the plants.

"Eh, they'll find h- what happened to your arm?" Tendou asked, poking my arm. I looked over at it to see a large scratch from that creature that attacked earlier. When I told Tendou what happened, he raised his brow.

"Oh? That's strange. The only creatures we worry about coming around here are hungry animals. What was a night creature doing here?"

"I don't know."

"Probably a result of the messed up day and night cycles lately." Tendou suggested with a shrug. I nodded in agreement when Tendou grabbed my hand with a smile.

"Are you done for the day?"

"Yes."

"Then let's head home."

"Let's stay here."

"You really can't just leave your plants alone, can you?"

"I can. But I don't want to." I said, Tendou laughing and shrugging.

"Fine, fine. We'll stay here." He said and dragged me off to a spot not in the dirt. We sat in the grass, Tendou talking about a bunch of tricks and pranks he pulled on the nearby village today. After a few more hours, the moon came up and Tendou fell asleep against me.

I moved so we could lay down on the ground and Tendou woke up only momentarily to climb on top of me. After he fell back asleep, I closed my eyes as well. But I didn't sleep. I was a bit too concerned if we'd get attacked again tonight.
