The Bully Affect

It can't be...but it is

>Kim's POV<

         We all get into the last class of the day and take our seats just as Mr. Smith walks in. "Good afternoon class. I have a special surprise today. We will have a visitor here to talk to you guys about your different projects and any suggestions. She is running a little late so get with your groups and start planning."

        We all go to a table at the back and sit down. "Who do you guys think is coming? Do you think it might be..." Chris starts.
        "No. It cant be. Her and her husband moved to Humboldt State with their son... I heard they had a daughter... They wouldn't come down here just because we are doing our first project. They haven't come any other year so why would they come now? Its not really logi-" Katie gets cut off by the classroom door swinging open.
        In walks no other then her, the girl we were trying to tell each other it wasn't. On one hip she has a baby girl that looks around a year and a half. She is the cutest thing ever. On her other shoulder she has a bag and she is holding a little boys hand. Lily Clark, the most honored and respected woman to ever live in our small town is in our class room. She walks up to Mr. Smith and gives him and awkward hug because she is still trying to keep hold of her kids.
        She tells him something and gives an apologetic look. He seams to shake it off and picks up the little boy holding him above his head. The boys laughter rings through the classroom silencing the groups that were still talking. They then turn to us and Lily doesn't look a day over 19 even though she is suppose to be 21.
        "Okay class, this is Lily Clark. I am sure you have all hear of her. She is the brilliant young lady that did The Suicide Project a few years ago. She will be here all week to help you guys on any minor aspects of your project or if you have any questions. These are her two kids Iris and Thor. Stay seated, she will be coming around to you guys."
        Mr. Smith tells her something and you can see the interest clear as day on her face. Then of all things he could do, he leads her to our table. A smile spreads across Ema's face and Jonathan tenses beside me as his breath cuts short. Chris and Kyle just look dumbfounded and Katie cant pull her eyes off the kids.
        "Hi, I'm Lily. Ja- Mr. Smith told me you guys are doing a project on bullying. I admire that you guys are willing to put yourselves out there for criticism and that you guys are doing something different then everyone else. Who's idea was it originally?" She asks setting Iris on her lap while Thor sits on the ground with a truck.
        Katie looks up from Thor and smiles at her. "It was Jonathan's idea to do it on bullying. Then the rest of us just started throwing in ideas. Has Mr. Smith told you everything we plan on doing?"
        "He briefed me on it. Why don't you guys explain it a little more though." We all start to explain the plan and loosen up. Thor keeps running his toy truck up and down Katie's leg making a 'vroom' noise until she picks him up onto her lap. Lily sees it from the corner of her eye and just smiles and keeps listening. The few times I look at Jonathan I see him looking at an oblivious Katie with adoration in his eyes.
        We all talk until 15 minutes before the bell when Lily says she should go talk to some other groups.
