Dress Shopping

 >Kim's POV<

         School went the same as always today. The normal fat jokes while getting tripped or having things thrown at me. Its the end of the day now and us girls are going to find dresses for Friday. I am really nervous for the presentations because we have to present to all three school on the same day. This will at least distract us for a few hours.
        We borrow a car from Jason and drive a few towns over. Even though the project is almost over we still don't want people to know until Friday. We don't find anything at the first store but we find really cute outfits for Ema and I at Target.

        Katie said she wanted a more vintage style dress and couldn't find anything so we leave after paying. We drive around to see if there are any stores that might sell that type of stuff when I notice a little hole in the wall place out of the corner of my eye. "What about that place?" She pulls over and we all walk inside.
        The bell rings behind us as we glance around the inside. Along the walls are shelves that hold old little trinkets. One wall is lined with books that look ancient. There are racks with different vintage clothes but I don't see any dresses. On the desk at the back of the room is a rotating jewelry stand that has earing, bracelets and a few necklaces.
        With out us noticing a little old lady walks up beside us causing us to jump. "Hello young ladies. May I help you find something?"
        "Um, do you happen to have any vintage dresses?" Katie asks.
        The lady smiles and slowly walks behind the counter. "I don't like keeping them on the floor but yes I do." We wait on the other side of the counter as she walks into the back room. She sticks her head back out though, "Well come on then." We follow her back hesitantly to see a single rack with about five dresses on it.
        Katie reaches out and holds the material of one in between her fingers. "They are all so beautiful... I-I originally wanted something that stopped right above my knees but this are just perfect..." She grabs one off the rack and holds it against herself looking in the body length mirror. She starts comparing two against each other.
        "Take them both for the price of one dear. This place is about to be shut down and nobody comes here any more any ways. Please."
        "I cant." Katie says shaking her head slightly.
        "Please?"
        Katie pulls her wallet out and pulls out 5 $100 bills. Jason had given us $1000 each and told us to treat ourselves to something nice. "Here, I'll take all 5 of them. Thank you." She grabs the dresses and is about to walk away when the old lady stops us.
        "I want to show you something dear." She leads us to the front counter and pulls a long box out from a drawer. "This necklace was passed down throughout my family for generations. Take it as a gift. Pass it on to your children. You have a good heart child, stay that way." She places the box in Katie's hand and ushers us out.
        "That was really sweet of her." Ema says as we get back in the car to go home.

        In the end she decides to wear the blue dress with the necklace and light blue flats. She is going to look beautiful.
