Last night I got no sleep. I tried and failed miserably. Luckily I have a choice in gaining energy either from sleep or blood. Both if I wanted. So, early that morning I went hunting and caught a large deer. It had been some time since I've been hunting. Although I've never tried human blood, I constantly crave it... unless of course I'm in my werewolf form. But somehow— because it's been a while since I've had blood at all—drinking from the animal was satisfying enough. You ask any vampire they'll tell you that the blood of an animal could never be as satisfying as the blood of a human. I guess it's not the same for me because I can live without ever having blood ever. I do still love the taste of blood though, it's just easier to sleep and eat regular food instead of hunt. Besides, being in my vampire form is hard to explain to those who believe I'm simply a werewolf.

I got back at around 5:00 AM and changed into something casual. I chose a pair of low wasted bulky jeans and a dark green t-shirt from the small collection of clothes that aren't black or red tight fitted clothes. I didn't feel obliged to wear dark colours around Jacob so it felt nice to wear something other than that. Don't get me wrong, I still love dark colours.

A few hours later I met Jacob at the same place he drove me to yesterday. He was once again shirtless and leaning on the trunk of his car. When I emerged from the tree line I smiled awkwardly at him. He brought me into a tight bear hug, same as yesterday and leaned back against the car.

"So, what are we doing today?" I asked him. He looked deep into the other side of the woods.

"I want to see how good you can fight as a werewolf," he said. I released a breath, glad that he hasn't brought up the conversation from yesterday.

"W- what? We're doing werewolf training now?" I asked.

"I'm sure you never got much of that living with a bunch of vampires," he chuckled.

"Fair enough," I replied then walked towards the passenger door. He drove us back to his house which was where the bonfire had taken place the other night. In the day I could see the full yard, the grass was perfectly tended to and a vibrant green, the sign of health. The area looked fresh and flourishing with nature. We walked to the back of Jacob's house where I was surprised to see his dad. He came up to us in his wheelchair with a wide smile. I couldn't help the nervousness the exploded in my chest when facing him. Last night there weren't many introductions. We sat around for the tribes stories before hearing a discussion on the Victoria crisis and other such matters before Jacob drove us home.

"You must be Dawn," he said. He brought out his hand for me to shake. He had a firm grip and calloused hands, a lot like his son. They both must work hard here. It was something I admired much about the pair. Something I would never understand.  My porcelain smooth palms have never seen a day of labour in their lives. "You were at the council meeting last night."

"Yes, It's good to meet you, Mr. Black, I'm honoured to have been invited to the meeting," I said, hoping I didn't sound too formal. It was something I picked up living with vampires my whole life. And of course, coming from a different century.

"Call me Billy," he smiled again. I wanted to smile back but could only find the energy for a soft simper.

"So, what're you two up to?" he asked, his eyes gliding between us.

"Just going to see what she's got. Probably go for a run up the mountain," he explained. I nodded although this was the first time I was hearing about this.

"You better be back by three," he already started to roll away. "The pack wants to meet her," he added. Now I was overwhelmingly nervous. Why did the pack want to meet me? I mean, I could think of a few reasons but I couldn't help the nervousness I felt when knowing I had to face his entire pack. Surely there would be members that didn't approve of me living with the Cullens. So far, everyone seemed really nice about it though.
