A blindfold covered my eyes gently. I could slightly see through but only the dark blurs and shadows of trees. I could barely see Jacobs large figure in front of me. I felt his strong chest beneath my palm. My cheek rested on his back, heat from his bare skin shooting into my face. The bike started to slow down until it came to a gentle stop. I couldn't make out anything except for trees. The sound of wind blowing past my ear was replaced by rushing water.

"Where are we?" I asked. I hated surprises. The eagerness ate away at my stomach. He didn't reply. Instead, he lifted me off the bike and helped me onto my crutches.

"Okay, now look," I did as he said and took the blindfold off. Before my eyes was a tall tree with a thick stem and high off the ground, built around the trunk was a tree house. Hanging from the tree house was a long rope ladder that looked weak. They were on a small platform somewhere in the mountains and nearby was a gently flowing river. My eyes lit up with excitement and interest.

Vampires don't make tree houses.

"Is this yours?" I asked excitedly.

"Well who else's would it be?" he teased. I rolled my eyes, secretly smiling to myself and crutched over to the bottom of the rope.

"How am I supposed to get up there anyways?" I asked curiously and turned to Jacob who had a smile on his face. He turned to around so his back faced me and crouched down to my level.

"Get on," he demanded invitingly.

"Get on? You think you can climb up with my extra body weight?" I asked, unsure if he was serious or joking. I laughed, trying not to fall off my crutches.

"Just get on will you?" He asked, his smile growing.

"So you're serious huh. I guess we could give it a try but if you break anymore of my bones I'm suing you." I made a poor attempt to jump on his back, it being hard while I'm crutched. Somehow he managed to catch me and stood up without any problems carrying my weight.

"You underestimate me Dawn," he said in a low growl, his mouth twitching into a smirk. His words created a thin layer of cold and nervous sweat on my back and palms. He grabbed onto the first handle and began to climb. He climbed with ease, having no problem carrying me. I was incredibly shocked and impressed but tried to hide it before he noticed. He was a werewolf after all.

"Looks like you aren't as weak as I thought," I said in his ear as I held on tightly for dear life. Feeling his muscular body beneath my touch sent a rush of heat to my face. My heart raced, realizing how close we had gotten, especially with my legs wrapped around his bare waist. Why did his touch have so much power over me? It was frustrating yet alluring. As Jacob managed to haul me up the latter and into the tree house, he set me down steadily on a wooden chair in the corner of the room.

I looked around the warm toned room. It was as if it was decorated for a child. There was brightly coloured furniture, children's drawings on the walls and toys stuffed away in bins. On the other side of the room was a bed, much too small for Jacob. It was a quaint yet peaceful place.

"Do you come here often?" I asked, stubbornly trying to stand up to explore the room. A sharp pain went through my leg and my knees completely gave out from the pain. I closed my eyes, expecting a hard and painful landing when I felt a pair of strong arms slither around my waist and catch me. Jacob helped me to my feet and allowed me to put my weight on him.

"Did you forget your ankle is sprained?" he asked, looking worriedly yet amused at me. I huffed, hiding my embarassement by looking away from his teasing eyes.

"I just wanted to look around the room," I muttered.

"You can do that without falling flat on your face," he let out a deep chuckle. Jacob steadily let go of me and I began hobbling carefully around the tree house. He watched from a distance as if waiting for a comment or critique. Something caught my eye at the corner of the room. I walked over to it. It was a picture. A picture of Bella and Jacob from last year when we moved away. I picked up the framed photo and my fists clutched around it. I hadn't realized how close they had gotten during that time. It shouldn't matter anyways but of course it did. It's always Bella.
