"Nice one." Corey whispered, complimenting me as the unconscious Peggie laid at my feet. "You're gettin' real good at this, Rory."
I nodded my head at him before I scanned the perimeter. There were two cultists guarding one of the alarms; one of them had a repair torch and the other had a shotgun. "Corey, how about I take the guys and you disable the alarm, yeah?"
"I am the strong one here, love; no offense. But, I can take them." He quietly insisted.
"Shhh. I fucking got this. Just trust me." I murmured, hoping my plan would work. My plan was to knock out the man with the repair torch and distract the other dude with a rock, steal his repair torch and fix up the truck the man I just knocked unconscious was trying to repair; meanwhile, Corey would be distracted by disabling the alarm. "Follow my lead, Dep. Go work on the alarm and I'll distract the Peggie with the shotgun and knock the other dude out. Got it? You trust me, don't you?"
Corey nodded his head in agreement, "Solid plan, Rory. I am ready when you are."
I flashed him a smirk before I picked up a lone rock and threw it out in the field.
The cultist with the shotgun aimed his weapon in the direction of where I threw the rock and he was on high alert. "Who's there?! Make yourself known! Show yourself and put your hands up! I better see no weapons! I will not hesitate to shoot you!" He walked over to the field as I snuck past him, hurriedly making my way to the welder masked-man with the repair torch. As fast as I could, I reached for his neck and began to squeeze. I startled him as he toppled over to the ground as I got on top of him. Strangling him was taking way too long so I had to end up snapping his neck. I stole his repair torch as I quietly made my way to the cultist truck. Gladly, Rook was still trying to disable the alarm as I used the repair torch on the vehicle. Once I was done, I chucked the repair torch to the ground and hopped into the truck; swiftly, I hot-wired the truck. I was extremely grateful that my dad was a pilot and taught me how to hot-wire shit. Suddenly, the engine roared to life as a huge smile grew on my face.
In an instant, Corey looked back at me with wide, horrified eyes; he knew I betrayed him as I put the truck in drive and floored it out of there. Immediately, the alarm sounded, calling in reinforcements. Bullets from the cultists were penetrating the truck as I swerved the steering wheel right, gassing it to John's ranch. Screams and loud gunshots permeated the air that could be heard from US Auto. I smiled evilly as I looked out the passenger window; many Peggies had their guns aimed at the Deputy. My malicious smile grew even wider. Being evil feels... kind of great... Is that a bad thing? Maybe, maybe not. And who the fuck cares?!
I veered my head straight ahead to focus on the road as I stepped on the gas pedal harder, going from sixty-five miles per hour to eighty-eight in a matter of seconds. Numerous emotions flooded throughout my entire body, including eagerness, excitement, and happiness. That hot goddamn Baptist was the only thing on my fucking mind right now. And I was incredibly determined to be with him. Nothing nor anyone could stop me.
