The year was 1994, and the four boys in sunset Curve, had just gotten the news that they would be headlining the orpheum - the following year.

As soon as the boys found out, they immediately told their families. Reggie, first told his younger sister, Hilary - who everyone just calls Hills.

She was beyond excited for the band, she was ready to see her brother get the recognition for everything that he was doing. But most importantly, she was excited for her boyfriend - Luke - to finally live out his life long dream.

Hills had begged Reggie, to take her with him to band practice that day. Eventually (after he was bribed with some Candy) he agreed to take her with him.

When they got to Bobby's house, she instantly ran for the studio that the band played in. Without a second thought, she ran and tackled Luke - in pure excitement over his big break.

"Good morning to you too." He laughed as he laid on the floor with her.

"Dude, that's my sister." Reggie groaned in disgust as Luke pecked Hills lips.

"Don't pretend like you don't do that to your poster of Leonardo DiCaprio, Reginald."

Reggie gave her a dirty look, as all the boys got into place - with Hills sitting on the couch, opposite the boys.

They started playing their song "my name is Luke" and Hills couldn't help but bop her head along to the rhythm of the drums.

Every so often, Luke would look at Hills and wink at her, earning a giggling fit from his girlfriend.

The boys always got lost in the music, it was as if they were the only ones in the room - when they played. It was inspiring to see what kind of emotions they could convey, through a few simple notes.

Hills couldn't help but imagine what it would be like, as she watched her brother and boyfriend, on stage at the orpheum. She realized that things were probably going to change when they finally played there, they were going to get famous, and obviously she wouldn't try stop that, but it was a sad fact, that the boys would be different to who they are now.

Her mind went to dark places, influenced by things that she had heard about people in the music industry, some dark things that went on behind closed doors. She didn't want that for her friends, but how could she stop that? Her breathing became unsteady, her eye sight blurred, and everything just seemed to close down on her all at once.

Eventually, the boys stopped playing, and turned their attention to the hyperventilating girl sat on the couch. Luke was the first one at her side. Rubbing her back and talking slowly to her - to help calm her down.

The other boys sat down in front of her, just hoping that she would calm down soon, and everything would be okay.

"You're okay, I promise, just try breath slowly for me." Luke whispered in her ear.

She soon started to catch her breath, as Luke talked about going to the beach after practice, and getting some ice cream too.

"Are you okay?" Reggie asks, resting his chin on her leg.

"Yeah I'm fine. I was just over thinking." Her voice was wobbly, but still audible. Luke never stopped rubbing her back, as she spoke.

"I know we're good artists, but who knew we could make you so breathless." Luke teased.

"I did it so you would finally stop playing." Hills hit back, earning herself a high-five from the three other boys.

Bobby went to fetch her some water, while the other boys told her embarrassing stories about each other.

When Bobby came back, Alex had asked her about what she was thinking about, and after she confessed her fears, they all gave up on band practice, and decided to spend a day together at the pier.

They all tried to convince her that they wouldn't change, and that they would always be the way they are now, but nobody ever expected things to change so drastically as they did - the night of the orpheum.
