"You know that I would come with someone, if Alex was in town." I take a sip of my tea as I try explain to nick - my brother - that I won't be bringing a date to his wedding in two days.

"How can you not? You're one of the main people in the wedding, it'll be bad luck if you don't bring someone. Besides you don't need to bring Alex, what about Luke?"

"Luke's in a band with Alex, he's also not in town." I stir my tea mindlessly.

"Reggie?"

"Also in the band."

"You need more friends." He laughs at my limited group of friends.

"I have friends, they're just all a little too busy for me."

"Well you know that I can set you up with someone else."

"If I can't have my best friend with me, I don't want to replace him, with someone I don't even know. All you need to focus on now, is getting mentally prepared for this, I refuse to deal with you when you're emotionally unstable." He hits my arm, as I chuckle at the childishness of our relationship.

Today was the day of the wedding, and the actual ceremony went so well, my brother looked so happy and I was honestly so proud of him for finding someone to love.

Now was the start of the reception, and we were starting with speeches - just so they're over with - and as I am the sibling of one of the people who got married, I had to give a speech.

"Hey everyone, some of you may know me, while others may not. I'm the grooms sibling, unfortunately, but today I am up here to tell everyone here, how proud I am of him, but also to embarrass the hell out of him. So first off I want everyone to know that nick and Julie, are together because of me." Everyone laughs at my bluntness. "They got together in 11th grade because I forced Julie, who is my best friend, to go on a date with him - to explore her options. Of course I knew they would get on well enough, and now here we are. These two have had a big impact on my life, they've both introduced me to some amazing people, and for that I thank them. I do honestly think that you two will do amazing things together, I don't know what yet, but just know that I'll always be in the front row. Now on to the embarrassing stuff. I'll map out the scene for you, it was Nick and julies 10th year in school. Julie had a massive crush on my brother for a few years but never acted on it, because he was with someone else."

"It was me!" Carrie yells from beside Julie - she was the maid of honor. The whole venue starts laughing.

"It was. But when Nick was single again, he started liking Julie. And when I tell you that this boy got way too brave for his own good, I really mean it. He asked her out, and she flat out rejected him. Flynn and I saw the whole thing happen and it was actually pretty hilarious. But contrary to what everyone thought, somehow you two made it work. And I'm so happy that I can finally call Julie my sister. Here's to Nick and Julie." I raise my glass, as everyone else does the same.

I go sit down next to my brother, as other people do their speeches. Eventually the music starts, and we all decide to head onto the dance floor. It was all going great until the slower songs came on, when you need a partner to slow dance with - a partner that I didn't have.

I see Nick walking toward me, obviously feeling sorry for me, that I don't have a partner, but I tell him to go dance with Julie and to not worry about me.

I walk up to the bar, and order some kind of cocktail. Soon enough I'm sipping on something fruity, and leaning on the bar, enjoying the view.

"Excuse me? Can I have this dance?" I hear from next to me. I look up and see Alex standing there in a tux, with his hand held out for me. I quickly put my drink down and hug him as hard as I can.

"Why are you here?" I am quite shocked at his presence.

"I wouldn't miss Julie's wedding for the world, besides I heard a certain best friend needed a dance partner."

"Maybe a certain person did."

"Would this certain person like to dance?"

"Of course I would." I smile at him, before grabbing his hand and dragging him onto the dance floor.

For the rest of the night, Alex and I were dancing, we even did a dirty candy - all eyes on me performance with Kayla, Julie and Carrie.

By the end of the night, Alex and I were both so tired, so we decided to have a sleepover at Julie's apartment - her and Nick left for their honeymoon after the reception. So we stayed up till the next morning, playing uno on the bed, and trying to forget how tired we actually were.
