Hi everyone so, I was writing on wattpad a few minutes ago, and I got a notification that someone commented on this book - the comment informed me that in a previous preference (celebrity crush 2020) I used a gay male as one of the options.
Firstly I am sorry if I offended anyone with the use of him (Conan gray) in this particular preference, I am not very familiar with him (I've only heard about his name on Instagram and Twitter - so needless to say I didn't know about his sexuality.). I have since changed the name to someone else in place of Him.
Secondly, I would just like to point out that contrary to what this particular comment said - I am not a straight woman, and I really don't appreciate when this particular reader assumed that I was sexualizing someone who is gay, just because I am a 'straight woman'. I understand how most books on wattpad can make it seem like they're written for straight women - but generally I try and make my imagines and preferences as gender-neutral as I can, so that everyone reading can put themselves in place of the POV.
I am genuinely sorry if anyone got offended or was uncomfortable when reading the preference, but next time (hopefully there isn't a next time) if I write something in a book that offends/makes you uncomfortable please just Dm me and educate me on the matter, so I can learn from my mistakes, instead of attacking me on a level that is not only unfair, but also is just making assumptions that are not true at all.
