𝐋𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐤 [ 𝐓𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐚. ]

Chapter 2: Big Brother

Something happened and this is the first time the whole manor was this dark and depressed. Not even the little girl had the energy to run around disturbing some of the workers, she was in her room, crying to herself.

From what happened, and from what she had heard, she knew that one person that's important in her life would never come home. (Name)'s father, Crepus Ragnvindr had died.

"Where is (Name)?" Diluc asked once of the maids. He was in a hurry, he knows that his little sister would know what happened to their father. He was broken, sad, and enrage, but he set his feelings aside because of his little sister.

He knows to himself that she couldn't take such sudden news, especially when their father was just with them yesterday.

"In her room, Lord Diluc." The main replied with her voice almost shaking. The intimidation that Diluc had suddenly give was very unusual.

Diluc wasted no minutes to run towards the little girls room. Once he arrived, he took a deep breath to compose himself and then knocked.

"(Name)? Are you in there?" He asked, making sure his voice was soft and gentle. He doesn't want her to be stressed out. She was young, and so did he.

Silence is what Diluc recieved. (Name) doesn't seem to talk to anyone at the moment, but Diluc wanted to see her. He just wants to know what's happening to her and her well being.

"(Name)? Please, Let big brother know if you're in there..." Diluc said as he leaned his forehead on the oak door, his jaw clenched as his heart thumped inside his chest. It feels like it's squeezing itself, and the pain was unbearable that it made Diluc let out some big breath as if he was catching it.

He was forcing in the tears. He wanted to look strong towards (Name) so that his little sister would know that he's still there to protect her from any harm.

"...(Name)?" Folic silently called out for her name, hoping that she would at least open the door for him to see what is happening to her now.

Then again, he was met by silence. Diluc cursed under his breath and balled his hands into a fist. His jaw clenched as he was once again, trying to fight back the tears.

Diluc was about to leave when suddenly, her door was slowly opened. Diluc then walked closely and made sure not to open it and letting her do it. Diluc then kneeled down when she saw her little form that came out of the light.

"(Name)?" Diluc once again called out, trying to give the softest smile he could ever give to his little sister.

"B-Big brother...is it true that Papa is not coming home...?" Her voice tremble as she sniff.

Diluc bit his bottom lips as (Name) had finally come out of her room. The sight of her crying broke Diluc's heart even more. Her cheeks were puffed red and tears were streaming down from her eyes. Her glossy eyes that stares back at Diluc.

"Is it true...T-That Papa is not coming home?" She asked once again as her voice was buried in between her mild sobs.

Diluc took a shaky breath as he composed himself one more time as he gently pull his sister towards him and give her the longing hug that Diluc want.

"I'm sorry, (Name)..." He apologized quietly as he let (Name) cried on his black coat.

"B-Big brother...!" The girl whined as she cried even more loudly this time.

The sound of her doing so made Diluc's heart clenched even more as his eyes couldn't take the force that he's giving to it. Diluc buried his face on (Name)'s shoulder as he silently cried along with her.

"Don't worry, (Name). Big brother will always be here to protect you." Diluc said as he hugged her tight.

"Lady (Name), please eat. You haven't eating your food properly and Master Diluc is going to be mad at us if you-"

"If you eat your food, I'll make sure to bring you to Mondstadt with me." Kaeya's voice entered the room as the girls eyes perked a little too look at her big brother.

"R-Really...?" The girl quietly asked.

Kaeya nod as he scoff, walking closer to her as he gently pats her head with a soft smile, "Yes, I already asked Diluc if I can. And he said yes." Kaeya lied.

"Okay, Big brother Kaeya! Will eat it!" The girl happily said as Keaya scoffed.

"That's a good girl." Kaeya said as he sat beside his little sister as he watched her eat.

Hours had passed and Kaeya succefully brought the girl to Mondstadt. Kaeya hold the girls hand as he shows her around town, let her meet some of his acquaintance and of course, showed her around the cathedral. The girl was of course fascinated when she saw the tall statue of Lord Barbatos. Every single second that Kaeya shows her around the town, she would smile and it brought satisfaction and happiness towards Kaeya. He just wanted to see her this excited again, and so, this was his plan. Though he doubt that Diluc would agree with this so he kept it as a secret and never did told him. He'll just have to face the consequences later.

"Big brother Kaeya," The girl called out for him as she tugged on his coat.

Kaeya hummed as he kneeled down on her level and place a hand on the top of her head, "Yes?" He asked with a smile.

"I'm hungry, can we eat something?" The girl asked with her puppy dog eyes.

Kaeya smiled in relief as he noticed that her appetite had slowly been coming back, "Sure~" he sang as he scooped her in his arms and carried towards the nearest eatery.

"What do you mean he brought her to Mondstadt with me knowing? I haven't even talked to Kaeya ever since yesterday! And once he never asked if he could bring (Name) to Mond!" He angrily shouted at (Name)'s personal maid.

"Master Diluc! I'm sorry, but Kaeya did said that you agreed-"

"When did they took their leave?" Diluc said as he took a deep breath to compose himself once again.

"Ever since lunch, Young Master..." The maid said as she gulped.

"Alright. I am so sorry for shouting. I'll deal with this. Go clean up my office please." He said as he fixed his gloves as he took his leave.

"As you wish, Young Master." The maid replied my shortly as he watched her Young Master slammed the door closed.

(Name) did not understand what was happening. But Diluc did nicely asked her to close her eyes and cover her ears and sang a song. She was happy to see her brother arrived in Mondstadt as she and Kaeya were having a meal, But she also noticed that Diluc wasn't very much happy so she guessed that he's just hungry.

The girl then complied with his big brothers wishes. And it took her a good five minutes to do so before she felt a touch on her shoulders.

She opened her eyes to see Kaeya smiling down at he softly, "Let's go home now, it's getting late." Kaeya said in which made the girl nod, some part of her confused but she lets her ignorance ran.

Kaeya then gently picked the girl up. Both of them walked over passed Diluc as Kaeya gave him a cold stare. Whatever they were arguing about earlier, it was surely to ensure (Name)'s safety, but it seemed like Kaeya wins this argument this time.
