It had been a week since Riley had found out about her brother she was adjusting to it very well she felt like she had a purpose now building up a relationship with her brother was giving Riley something to focus on and it was important to her
Riley and Nate had become quite distant with each other it's as if they were slowly starting to forget about one another although Riley was all Nate could think about and intern he's all she could think about
Riley hadn't really spoken to the girls either Cassie had invited her over to her house the other day to talk to her about something along with the rest of the girls but Riley declined she didn't feel like being around everyone the girls understood she knew Riley was preoccupied with her just finding out she had a brother that she had no idea about
It was Friday evening and Riley was at Masons house getting to know him was really taking her mind of her situation with Nate
"How is it your older than me but you literally act like a child" Riley joked
Mason laughed at Riley's comment
"Too right I'm definitely young at heart best way to be" Mason said
Riley smiled at his response
"I really want you to meet Liv soon she's amazing you'll love her" Mason said referring to his girlfriend
"Yeah definitely that would be great" Riley said happily
"Are you dating anyone at the minute?" Mason asked
Riley's heart sunk at the question Mason had asked her the first person that came into her head was Nate
"No" Riley said quietly as she put her head down slightly
Mason had noticed her change in mood he could tell something was wrong
"Riley are you alright?" Mason asked a little concerned
Riley lifted her head back up and looked at Mason
"Yeah I'm fine" Riley reassured him
Mason wasn't convinced he knew something was up but he didn't want to annoy Riley by constantly asking if she was okay
"Well if you ever need to speak to me about anything I'm always here" Mason said as he smiled at her softly
Riley didn't respond she just smiled back at him she respected him for saying that usually people would continue to ask her which got on her nerves but not Mason it's like he understood
