Nate made his way up the stairs he walked towards Riley's bedroom he stood in her door way the door was wide open he saw her sitting on the bed she looked up at him with a blank expression on her face
"Riley can we talk please?" he asked
She ignored him and put her head down
"Riley come on look I know what I said really hurt you and I'm so angry at myself I was a complete dick I just want us to sort this out"
Riley looked up at Nate
"You know what hurts the most the fact that I would never of expected you to say anything like to me your always the one who is there for me even when I continue to push you away but yesterday you proved me wrong your just like everyone else if you didn't mean what you said you wouldn't have said it"
Nate walked towards Riley
"Riley I know I said a stupid thing but I didn't mean it deep down you know I didn't your just looking for an excuse to push me away even more than you already have"
Riley was irritated by his comment
"Don't even go there this isn't about me making excuses what you said fucking hurt me so deal with it"
"No I'm not going to just deal with it I know you too well Riley this is an excuse it's an easy way out you never fucking talk to me anymore all you do is push and push and I'm still here because no matter what I always will be and that's something you can't handle that someone is willing to stay even when you constantly push them away your not used to someone fighting for you"
"Bullshit" Riley was in denial
"No not Bullshit you put on this big act like your really happy and nothing phases you but I know you Riley I know your vulnerable and damaged just let me in let me help you"
"I don't want your fucking help!" she shouted as she stood up to face Nate
"Your in denial Riley you know it and I know it"
"I'm not listening to this shit" Riley said as she walked passed Nate and left her bedroom
Nate followed Riley
"Why because it scares you the fact that someone actually gives a shit about you and sees past the front you put on"
Riley turned to face Nate
"I don't need you need you to give a shit about me Nate I'm fine" she lied
"No your not Riley your not and it's okay" Nate said softly
Nate was right Riley wasn't okay Riley looked at him her eyes were filled with sadness
Nate pulled her into a hug Riley hugged him back he rested his head on top of hers he held her tightly in that moment Riley felt safe something about Nates determination to not give up on her no matter how many time's she pushed him away it made her feel special it was a feeling she had never experienced before and she liked the way it felt.
