Over the course of the last few days Riley and Nate had gotten closer They were spending more time together Riley knew that she was getting attached to Nate she could feel it she just hoped she wouldn't live to regret it.
Nate and Riley had the house to themselves as they did most of the time they were laying in bed together Nate was holding Riley in his arms.
"Your so perfect you know that" Nate said as he admired Riley he held onto her tightly
She smiled at his compliment as she started to blush she just couldn't help it she loved the way he made her feel.
The only problem for them was Maddy Nate was still kind of with her they were on and of which only made Riley feel awful she was going behind her best friends back.
"Nate when are you going to call things of with maddy I get it's gonna be hard for you to do because of her reaction and everything that will come with it but you need to do it's for the best" Riley said honestly
Nate didn't want to admit it to Riley but deep down he didn't want to end things with maddy yes he adored Riley and he was happy with how things were going with her but he still had feelings for maddy yes their relationship was toxic and messy but maddy is all Nates ever known he was torn he didn't have the heart to tell Riley he knew it would break her especially after she opened up to him about her feelings it would destroy her.
"I'm gonna do it after the carnival I promise I just want the chilli contest to go smoothly for my dad so I'll wait till after the carnival to tell her" Nate lied
Riley looked relived in that moment but little did she know that she had just been told a lie.
It was the night of the carnival Riley was at the chilli booth with Cal Marsha Aaron and Nate
Nate went of to find Maddy while she was left to help her family.
Moments later Nate came back looking frustrated
"You broke up again" Cal said
"No we didn't" Nate said irritated as he came and sat next to Riley
"If you ask me she's a distraction" Cal said before he tasted his chilli.
Riley was starting to get bored
"I'm gonna go see fez I haven't seen him in a while" Riley said as she stood up
Although Nate knew Riley and fez were just friends he couldn't help but feel slightly jealous.
"Don't be too long please Riley you need to be back when they announce the winner" Cal said to her
