A/N: The part where they have the conversation with the parents is all in spanish. I wrote it in english because it's weird to me when author's provide a conversation in an other language without any translation and it's weird to keep putting the translation and it's weird to keep writing they said this in spanish. I do like it when authors put phrases or words in another language, but an entire conversation as intense as this one just doesn't seem right in this case.

Antonio Angel Hernandez Sanchez

"Ready?" I asked Liz as we pulled up at her parents' house. My parents' car was already there. We had debated many ways we had wanted this night to go. Whether Liz should tell her parents alone, whether Sarah should be there with her when she told them, if I should be the one with her, whether or not my parents should be there, if we should do it at our house or her parents house. In the end, we decided it would be best if Sarah stayed away for now. We didn't know how Liz's parents were going to react and neither Liz nor I wanted their wrath to be turned to Sarah. We decided on Liz's parents' house so they couldn't just run out and pretend they didn't hear Liz like Jose and Rosa were still doing to Olivia. We decided I should be the one to be at Liz's side so I could explain that I knew and was okay with it. We decided to invite my parents so we only had to tell our parents once we were getting a divorce.

"No," Liz said. "But I have to be for Sarah."

We got out of the car and headed towards the front door. I took Liz's hand in mine to show her my support.

We went inside and greeted our parents. We ate dinner together while Liz and I temporarily pretended it was a night like any other. After dinner, we all went into the living room to talk. Our parents knew something was up. It wasn't usual for us to call them and ask them to meet with all of us like this out of the blue.

Liz and I sat side by side on the love seat. She took in a deep breath. Our parents were silent as they waited for her to say what she was going to say. I took her hand to help steady her. She opened her mouth to speak, but nothing came out so I thought it might be best if I began the conversation.

"We don't want you to think less of either of us," I started. "We are both okay with what is happening." Our parents blinked at us blankly. Except my madre. Her eyes looked at me in fear even as they begged me not to continue. "We're getting divorced," I said.

"Why?" Liz's madre asked in spanish as she leaned forward.

"Don't speak nonsense," her padre said also in spanish.

"They are playing a joke on us," my padre said.

"No," Liz said, finally finding her voice. She looked at me and gave a little smile. "We do love each other," she turned her attention back to our parents. "But not like a husband and wife. We are best friends. Nothing more."

"I don't understand," Liz's madre said.

"I know you don't," Liz said. She didn't pause as she said, "I'm attracted to women. I'm lesbian."

It was silent for several moments. Then her padre started laughing. "It is a joke," he said to my padre.

"No," Liz said with strength in her voice. "It's not a joke. Sarah is my girlfriend. Antonio knows. He has always known. He was kind enough to marry me so I could keep pretending and keep you happy. But Mama, Papa, I'm miserable. I'm happy with Sarah. I want to be with Sarah."

"Stop," her padre said as he rose menacing to his feet. "That is nonsense and I will not hear anymore of it."

"Papa," Liz pleaded, but her madre interrupted her.
