I woke to the comfortable darkness of Dean's room. He had an arm slung over my waist. My back was to his chest. I woke with a smile, content and happy with all that had happened. His warm flesh was against mine.
I blinked and the smile slowly disappeared from my lips. I was naked. There was no regret about what happened a few hours previous, but I grew more and more uncomfortable being completely naked. There was a painful awareness that his hand rested against fatty flesh and even though I believed him when he said he was attracted to me, I no longer wanted him touching that fat.
I moved to slide out of the bed to retrieve my clothes, but his arm tightened around me. I turned slightly to look at him. His eyes remained closed and his breathing deep and even. I couldn't tell if he was awake or not.
I wiggled out from underneath his arm and got out of the bed. I quickly put my clothes on and climbed back into bed. I turned with my back to Dean so I was in a similar position from before I got out of bed except his arm was no longer around me and I wasn't quite as close to him. A deep breath I didn't realize I was holding was released as I settled down. I closed my eyes and relaxed.
His arm circled around my waist and pulled me close to him once again. His lips kissed the back of my neck. I waited half afraid he might say something about me being dressed, but he didn't. His breath grew steady once again as he drifted off to sleep. I could finally relax and fall back asleep.
Sunlight was streaming through the bedroom windows when I woke. I was alone. Dean always did wake up early. I could smell some type of egg cooking. I turned on my back and stretched my arms over my head. Yesterday had been just what I needed. I was completely relaxed.
I got out of bed, got dressed for the day and went through my morning routine. When I went into the kitchen, Dean was placing a plate with a large omelet on the table in the spot I usually sat at. He smiled at me and I practically melted. No one could say no to that face. I couldn't the previous night.
"Good morning," he said.
"Good morning," I said. I knew I was smiling like a fool, but he seemed to like it so it didn't matter.
I sat down in my spot as he grabbed another plate with an omelet on it and sat in his normal spot.
The omelet had an assortment of vegetables in it and some cheese. My stomach growled hungrily. I looked across the table to Dean to see if he noticed, but he didn't. There was a cup of coffee and a glass of orange juice set with my plate. I also couldn't help but notice the tabasco sauce on the table. I grabbed it and put a generous helping over the omelet. He smiled as if that made him happy and he did the same with his own omelet.
I didn't think it was possible for him to be more attractive, but he was in that moment when he put the tabasco sauce over his omelet. I had weird tastes.
The omelet was delicious just as all of his cooking was. "Liz would like this," I said without thinking about the words.
"Maybe next time I'm at your place I can make them for everyone," he said. His golden eyes smirked at me.
"Like for breakfast?" I asked.
He raised an eyebrow suggestively. "If you'll let me," he said.
"Yes," I said and I remembered how I had said 'yes' the previous night and from the smile on his face he was remembering it too.
"Then it's a date," he said.
I didn't say it as we ate, but I was grateful this breakfast was more nutritious than pancakes. Even though we had sex last night and broke that barrier, I still wanted to lose weight.
