"What's up with all the stubble?" Sarah asked. My hand automatically went up to rub the growing hair on my chin. A bad habit I shouldn't get into if I wanted a good beard. My arm dropped back to my side.

"Dean said he would look good with a beard," Liz replied for me. "He's had it for about two weeks. Are you just noticing it now?" They sat snuggled together on the living room couch. Now I couldn't even remember why I went in there.

"No. I noticed. I just hoped he would shave it. I'm not a fan of beards," Sarah said with a slight frown to her lips.

"You're lesbian. You don't have to be a fan of beards," Liz said. "I personally thought he looked great when he had his beard."

"You're lesbian too," Sarah said, "what do you mean you thought he looked great. You wouldn't know."

"Knowing someone looks good and being attracted to them are two very different things," Liz said. She turned her attention to me and said, "Don't listen to her. You looked great with a beard."

"Did you need something?" Sarah asked as I looked around the room trying to remember why I came inside in the first place.

"I guess not," I said.

"You're going to Dean's tonight, right?" Liz asked even though she already knew the answer. "Have fun."

"I will, thanks," I said.

"Are you sleeping over?" Sarah asked.

"Not sure yet," I said. I would be tempted to do something if I slept over. I had been working out every day and I had lost weight, but I was still soft and round. If we just slept in his bed together cuddling, that wouldn't be so bad. "Maybe."

"Please do," Sarah said. She squeezed Liz close to her and said into her ear loud enough for me to hear, "We're going to make love all night long and I'm going to make sure it's not quiet."

Lliz giggled and playfully slapped Sarah on the arm. Yeah, sleeping over at Dean's seemed preferable.

"I'll keep that in mind," I said. "Guess I'll get going. Have fun you two."

"Oh we will," Sarah said suggestively.

I stepped out into the hallway and remembered what I had gone in there for. "Oh, right," I said. I walked back into the room to see Sarah and Liz kissing. They didn't bother to stop. I walked past the couch and retrieved the motorcycle magazine from the coffee table before walking back out.

I went upstairs and put the magazine in my bag. I double checked that I would have everything in case I slept over. My toiletry bag now included the items I had bought for beard care. The stubble was less itchy than it had been a week ago and the beard oil helped with the itchiness. For the most part, I had just let the stubble grow. I did shave it back from my neckline. I was lucky that my beard had always grown in evenly. I never experienced the patchiness that others did.

"Bye," I called out to the women as I paused at the archway to the living room. I shook my head as Sarah already had Liz on her back. They didn't break their intense kiss, but Liz waved at me. I left knowing as soon as I did the clothes were coming off. I didn't know why they liked to do it on the couch so much. At least they never made a mess.

I got in my car and made the drive to Dean's. It was only about a half hour drive via the freeway. I parked at the curb in front of his house. There wasn't a long wait after I rang the doorbell. He smiled when he opened the door.
