Cadet Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell is 18 years old when she leaves Planet Earth and boards the U.S.S. Republic with 499 other young people leaving worn torn Planet Earth to start a new life on either Star Base 10 or 12.

the interstellar journey is two year journey and Cadet Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell looks out her window in her quarters on the U.S.S. Republic and she wonders what Star Base 12 will be like and how Star Fleet Academy will be.

Cadet Karissa Lowell left Planet Earth in 2272 after she buries her beloved Roy from prostate cancer.

Roy and she planned to be married but Roy was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2270 and two years later it claimed his life at 20 years old.

The only picture that Karissa brings with her is one of Roy and her at a formal dance.

Oconogist couldn't get Roy's cancer back in remission and shortly afterwards he passed away in her arms.

Karissa carried his last wishes out and has him cremated and his ashes placed around his grandmother's grave site.

Karissa boards the U.S.S. Republic and heads for Star Base 12.

Karissa arrives on Star Base 12 in June of 2274 and she takes a suite at Madames Boarding House on the outskirts of Norfolk Territory that is governed by Lord Charles Andrew Howard JR fourth Duke of Norfolk Territory and he has one unmarried son, Lord Andrew Charles Howard age 24 years old.

Lord David William Beck age 34 and both notice Karissa sitting on top of the hill over looking Star Fleet Academy.

There is also Lt. Kevin Thomas Riley that also notices Karissa.

All three vie for Karissa's affection and love but she is torn between all three and her memory of Roy.

It's Lord Andrew Charles Howard that falls for Cadet Karissa Elizabeth Ann Lowell the hardest and he journeys out to Madames to visit her.

Lord Andrew Charles Howard is handsome, bold, high spirited, rebellious and unconventional just like Karissa.

Lord Andrew Charles Howard does not give up until he wins Karissa and he gives her what she wants a daughter that she can name Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane and Lord Andrew Charles will create Karissa Duchess of Norfolk Territory and their daughter Lady Elizabeth Victoria Ann Beltane will become the first Duchess of Norfolk Territory in her own right.

Lady Karissa is so beautiful that every aristocrat wants Lady Karissa but the only that takes her away finally away from Lord Andrew Charles after 24 years of marriage is Lord Richard William Carey Duke of Bedford Territory.
