Jimin roamed his eyes across the flyer in his hands and excitedly bites onto his lips. He turned back to the person who was handing out the flyers by the main entrance of the college building and taps their shoulder gently.
“Yes?” The girl looked at him over her shoulder, her thick rimmed glasses sliding down the bridge of her nose.
“For this dance program,” Jimin began, referring to the flyer in his hand. “Are we allowed to use the college's dance studio?”
The girl gently pushed her glasses up and smiled sweetly at him. “Yes you can but you need to get permission from the head office.”
“Ah, I see. Thank you!” Jimin nodded more to himself, glancing back at the flyer as he turned around and began to head inside the halls.
“What's this?” Jiwoo questioned, coming up from behind Jimin and snatching the flyer from his hands. It took her a few seconds to read over it before dramatically gasping. “A dance program? Woah! Jimin, you gotta enter!”
He chuckled as she waved the flyer in his face. Pushing down her hand, he took back the flyer and proceeded to stuff it inside his bag with a strap that was slung on one shoulder and ran across his chest.
“I am going to enter,” He says, grinning along with Jiwoo who appeared to be more giddy and excited than he was. “And hopefully I'll be able to get into it, I really can't wait.”
“Hopefully? Hopefully?!” Jiwoo let out a scoff and folded her arms below her chest. “Are you really doubting your dancing skills, at this moment? Must I remind you of everything you've achieve so far? It's because you are so frickin‘ talented, Mr. Park!”
Jimin's ears had turned a bright red from not only her calling him Mr. Park while smacking his ass that had caught turning heads of other students but also her praises. He covered half his face with the sleeve of his jacket and ducked his head from everyone's questioning gazes.
Jiwoo on the contrary was walking with confidence and stuck out her chin in the air, flipping the locks of her hair over her shoulder. The mere sight of Jiwoo had Jimin breaking out in laughter and at this point he didn't care who looked and who judged.
———
Jimin pressed the button to the speaker, his ears perking up as the music began to circulate the college's white dance studio. He was free for an hour or two before his next lecture and Jimin had taken the opportunity to request permission and utilise the time to practice.
Jimin began to enjoy the music as he moved to the centre of room and took a deep breath, readying to be undone and flow as one with the music. There was no lie that Jimin was going to practice a lot more than usual in order to get into the program.
It'll be the first dance program for him, in America.
———
Jimin had no idea what the auditoriums in American colleges were used for, because he was used to having the auditorium for all sorts of reasons. From festivals, to announcements, to shows and performances.
Perhaps he could say that the auditoriums in America were used for one thing, and that was auditioning for a position in the dance program.
“Park Jimin?” Jimin walked on stage and faced the team leader in front of him.
He blinked at the sight of the boy and furrowed his brows as he stared for a bit, for the team leader resembles a bit like someone he knew but Jimin couldn't remember nor pinpoint who.
“You're Park Jimin?” The team leader, who's name was Hoshi, asked once while gancing up from their clipboard.
Jimin nodded his head confidently. “Yeah, that's me. Would you like me to perform first of would you like to ask the questions before?”
