***Sadie's POV***

Roz and I finished our course at 7:45. It was amazing! We started out coming out standing on the horses and then went into hanging from the sides. We also talked to the crowd a little too. Just simple stuff. Introducing ourselves, the horses, and whatever else we were feeling. I had never experienced anything like that before, but it was incredible!

"Dude, that was insane!" I say practically jumping off Buck.

"I know!" She says. We looked like two little girls jumping up and down, hugging each other. I didn't care though. We started walking back to the dressing room when I saw Jess in my sight. He had a smirk on his face.

"Nice ride, Trickster" He says. 'Trickster' was a term people used towards Trick Riders.

"Thanks" I say. I knew Roz would question the interaction. "Goodluck, Cowboy".

"Thank you" He says to me. He turned to Roz and tipped his hat. "Ma'am". She smiled back before he left. We turned around to watch him walk away. He also turned and looked back at us. He blushed and looked at the ground before turning back around. Roz gave me a look.

"So, that's the reason for the smile" She says. I couldn't even lie at this point. Jess was pretty awesome so far. "Well, good to know.  Sadie Rosen and Jess Lockwood".

"Hey, don't go spreading that rumor" I say as we enter the dressing room.

"Honey, a rumor is something someone makes up. The way that boy looked at you...you can't fake that". I just shook my head and felt my face get hot. I think in my head, I knew she was right.

**
By the time 9:00 rolled around, Roz and I were wore out, but went out to where the chutes were at in the arena. Jess was about to ride, and I wanted to see.
Thankfully, he was uo next.

The arena was silent, except for the bull snorting. He was very obviously irritated already. As the bell went off, Jess and the bull shot out of the chute. Jess hang on pretty well.

"Man, look at him go" I say.

"Yeah, he's crazy" Roz says. I ignored the comment, because I was used to seeing my dad ride.

"Dude, he passed the 8 second mark. He's a 10" I say with a huge smile. Quickly, my smile faded whe. He was thrown. He landed down on his back. He didn't seem hurt though because he got right up. When he walked out, he passed Roz and I. He took his helmet off and looked at me.

"Good ride, cowboy" I say. He chuckled.

"All for you" He says before disappearing behind us. Roz nudged me in the arm with her elbow. I just rolled my eyes as we walked back to the dressing room.

"You know, he is cute, Sadie" She says. We both plop down on the couches. We still had a little bit before the show woukd be over.

"He's...nice" I say.

"Yeah, nice looking" She says. "Why don't you go for it?".

"Dude, we haven't even known each other for a day. We just started talking. Yes, he's cute, and nice, but it's way too soon" I say. She nodded.

"I get it" She says. "But, hey...he definitely likes you too". I just smiled and shook my head. In the back of my mind, I was hoping she was right, but I was also thinking it may be too good to be true. I mean, he was Jess Lockwood. A professional bull rider. And, the yougest ever rookie, might I add. He was that good. I was Sadie Rosen. A trick rider. I wasn't a professional. People only knew my family because my father. I was a world champion, but thst doesn't even to compare to how amazing Jess is. I couldn't help but let it get to me. And, also, in this day and age, almost nothing is ever real anymore. Most guys get with girls, mess with them a bit, then leave like nothing ever happend. I'm sorry, but if you say you want someone, how could you possibly treat them that way? Even if the feelings aren't real, how could you sleep at night knowing you literally destroyed someone. Maybe I was a bit cautious, but I didn't care. I wasn't going to let my heart get broken by some cowboy who could have anyone. I didn't want to be just another notch in his belt. I wasn't going to let myself become that. No one should ever settle for something like that low. Every girl should know their worth, and if the guy can't then he obviously isn't even worth my time. However, something was different about Jess. I couldn't help but think that maybe he was worth it.
