Seven hours. I had been sitting in the same chair for seven hours. Staring at the same wall for seven hours. And, I still hadn't heard anything about Jess. Luckily, Cooper stayed with me. Roz was nowhere to be found, and I hadn't tried to reach her. I screwed that up big time. It was 4AM and I just wanted to go to sleep, but I couldn't sleep without Jess by my side.

By the time 4:30 rolled around, a doctor that wasn't Dr. Denver came over to us.

"Hi, you're Sadie?" She asks.

"Uh, yeah. I-I am" I say.

"I'm Dr. Estes. I was one of your boyfriends surgeons" She says.

"Is he okay? Is he better?" I ask. I couldn't even stand up.

"He's out of surgery. It went well. I was able to put in a bone graft from his hip to repair the broken one in his neck. He did very well" She explains. I felt relief.

"Can I see him?" I ask, finally getting up.

"Yes, you can. Follow me" She says.

"I'll...call Rozlyn" Cooper says. I nod my head in agreeance and follow Dr. Estes.

When we got to the room, Jess was just lying still in bed with a neck brace and stitches in his hip.

"Hi, baby" I say running my fingers through his hair. "I love you so much". I whisper in his ear before kissing his forehead.

"It may take some time for him to wake up, but you're welcome to stay as long as you need" She says.

"Thank you" I say. When she left, my head fell onto Jess's shoulder. "Please wake up, baby. Please. I can't do it without you". I say over and over to him.

"Hey, Sadie?" I hear. I look up and see Cooper. "Rozlyn said she would come later".

"Thanks, Cooper" I say.

"Hey, Jess is one of my best friends too. It was no trouble" He says.

"Well, wait here with me. He'll want to see you when he gets up too". He nods and pulls up a chair beside the bed for me. He sat on the opposite side.

By the time 6AM rolled around, I was getting tired. Cooper got me a pillow and blanket from the nurses station, so I decided to lay down in the couch in his room. Maybe if I went to sleep, this awful nightmare would end.

***Rozlyn's POV***

My heart was broken. Sadie hurt me bad last night, but my pain didn't compare to hers. That's why I decided to go to the hospital this morning. However, I had to make a call to someone before I saw Sadie. By the time 6AM came, I was at the hopsital.

Jess was in room 531. Sadie was sound asleep on the couch, and Cooper had his feet kicked back on Jess's bed and his cowboy hat down over his eyes. Jess was sleeping soundly too. I prayed he woke up. I gently placed my hand on Cooper's leg. He instantly woke up.

"Oh, hey" He says. "Glad you came".

"How is he?" I ask.

"Had a bone graft put in. Doctor said he'll wake up, just give him some time" He explains.

"What about riding?" I ask.

"Sadie didn't ask" He replies. I nod. He stood up.

"Uh, please. Sit down. Take a load off" He says. I smile and do just as he said. "Is she okay?".

"I...think she will be when she sees her bestfriend" He replies. That warmed my heart. "She's sorry for how she acted. I do know that".

"I'm not mad. She said what she did because she was in pain. That's not Sadie Rosen who said that".

"Yeah, I know. Also, between you and I" He says.

"You and me?" I ask. He smiled.

"If you ever need anything for...the baby, you call me. I'll answer anytime" He says. I felt my face get hot.

"Thanks, Coop" I say.

"No, problem" He says. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I need coffee".

***Sadie's POV***

I woke up to the sound of a voice. A female voice. I soon realized it was Roz.

"She loves you, Jess. You have to wake up for her. She'll be a mess without you" I hear. "Please, Jess. You gotta wake up".

A tear formed in my eyes hearing her kind words. I stood up. She turned around. She didn't even say anything to me, she just wrapped her arms around me.

"I'm sorry, Roz" I say. "I'm so sorry".

"I know. I forgive you" She replies. I pull away.

"Doctor said he'll be okay" I tell her.

"Cooper told me. He left to go get some food" She says. We both sit back down on the couch.

"He stayed the whole night" I tell her. "He's a good man".

"Yeah. He is" She agrees. "He told me he'd be there if I ever needed any help with the baby".

"Ooh. He's a keeper" I say jokingly.

"Oh. Hush. We're friends" She says. We both laugh. A knock interrupted our laughter. I stood up to get the door. When I did, my heart dropped.
