TWO DAYS LATER

MORNING ( 8:00 AM )

AUN POV

"Sweetie, today you're taking a day off," my father announced, causing me to pause in my tracks as I reached for the keys. "Why?" I questioned, turning my body to face him.

My father's head popped out from behind the newspaper wall he was engrossed in, his brows raised above his reading glasses. "Your wedding is in a week, Aun. We need to select the invitations, venue, decorations, your dress, the food, and much more. There's a lot to take care of, and you're asking me why?"

Letting out a tired sigh, I had reached my limit with all the wedding preparations. It had been two days of trying to accept my mistake and contemplating a plan to stop the entire wedding, and now my father was exacerbating my irritation.

"I'm not interested, Papa. You can choose whatever you like," I stated firmly, determined to distance myself from the overwhelming pressure. I made my way towards the main door, ready to escape the chaos for a while.

"Sweetie, you know I don't appreciate that attitude," my father's stern voice halted me in my tracks, preventing me from opening the door. These were the moments when I despised his strictness and bossy nature.

"You are coming with me to set all the arrangements," my father declared, his voice filled with determination. I slouched my shoulders, knowing that I couldn't win against him. He was one stubborn head.

"Fine, I'll come with you but..." I paused, glancing at my father's reaction. To my surprise, he was smiling, seemingly less bothered about the word 'but.' "I can't give you all day."

My father nodded, still smiling at my reluctant agreement. Though I couldn't fully comply with his decision, I didn't have much of a choice but to go along with it. "I'll get the car ready," Papa said, moving to take his car keys. However, a sudden thought popped into my mind, causing me to stop his actions.

"Papa, if we arrange everything, what about the Jeons? You should ask for their ideas too," I suggested, hoping to divert his attention towards his friends. Perhaps if he considered involving them, he would leave me alone and patch things up with them instead.

"Don't worry, Aun. They are tagging along with us," he replied, once again beaming his smile. He continued to get his car ready, completely blocking out my words. I knew that my day wouldn't end well today. Especially since I suspected that JungYun and his parents would be present as well. He seemed to be taking advantage of every possible chance to exasperate me.

For the past two days, I hadn't encountered his presence or heard his name mentioned anywhere around me, for which I was thankful. But now, the realization that I would have to live with him made my emotions twist inside me.

I couldn't think of anything that would effectively stop the upcoming event. The option to run away was quickly dismissed from my mind. Not only would it be a cowardly act, but it would also deeply hurt my father. He had raised me to be brave and honorable, not to turn my back and flee. So, running away was not an option.

Convincing the Jeons to call off the wedding would be a foolish decision. I knew all too well how JungYun could manipulate and twist my words to his advantage. So, that option was also crossed out.

I pondered the idea of trying to find someone who could persuade my father to reconsider, but I knew deep down that it was unlikely. I didn't have anyone in my life who could successfully influence my father's decisions. So, that option was also crossed out.

"Sweetheart, we're getting late," I heard the honking sound from the front porch, accompanied by my father's voice calling my name. "Coming, Papa!" I shouted in response as I grabbed my bag and the house keys to lock the door behind me. I took a deep breath, ready to face the day of wedding preparations ahead.
