The room fell silent as the members of the Board of Directors lowered their heads to carefully review Aun's project papers. They discussed important points that needed to be addressed before considering the release of her new AI development into the market.
It was clear that her invention had captured the attention of the younger generation, who were eager for new inventory models and upgrades. If they decided to sample her invention, there would likely be a high demand.
Aun's gaze shifted from one person to another in the room. The Chairperson, Vice-Chair, Lead Director, Committee Chair, the company's Secretary, and the Treasurer were all present, along with the CEO. They had gathered to evaluate her implementation of the new scheme.
Her hands and feet grew cold, a result of her anxiousness and fear. She was afraid that her four years of hard work would be rejected in an instant. However, despite her inner turmoil, she composed herself and suppressed her trembling. She maintained a neutral and calm demeanor as she awaited their decision.
"Ms. Grey, what is your main motivation behind this idea?" inquired the Lead Director, who seemed content with the new input procedure.
"I developed this implementation based on the interests of the younger generation, Mr. Hwang," Aun responded. "Taking into account their desire for additional upgrades, improved quality, and ample storage space, I have programmed my invention to be compatible with upcoming technologies for the next five years. Furthermore, I have ensured that its design is compact and appealing to gadget users."
She concluded her speech, anticipating further questions from the board. Another board member spoke up, asking, "What new programs have you incorporated into your project, Ms. Grey?"
"The device is equipped with advanced analysis and detection capabilities," Aun explained. "It can analyze various natural parameters and fulfill user requirements, while also detecting any changes within its pre-set parameters. Additionally, it features a motion sensor and can be utilized for security purposes, as it recognizes the space and environment it is installed in. The algorithm is designed to be easily adaptable for the inclusion of new features if necessary."
As Aun confidently explained her project, the members of the board nodded in agreement, impressed by her explanations and answers. They were convinced that her invention was worthy of selection and approval, and proceeded to take the next steps. Aun's heart raced with anticipation, as all she wanted was to see the official license seal on the white papers they held in their hands.
Time passed as the board members delved deeper into discussing her project. Oblivious to her nervousness, they continued their conversation, engrossed in concluding their decision regarding her market launch. Aun nervously bit her lip and tapped her feet lightly, trying not to disturb them.
Finally, her husband the Chairman spoke up, "Ms. Grey, the idea and implementation used in your project are commendable, and we have decided to approve your work. Congratulations on your success." A wide smile spread across Aun's face, filled with joy and happiness upon hearing the news she had been waiting for.
"And from now on, your product will be launched under the name GR-PRO, which is derived from your name, Ms. Grey," the Chairman continued. Aun's smile grew even bigger as she looked at the Chairman, grateful for the new information. In that moment, any animosity or dislike she held towards her husband vanished. They both understood the importance of professionalism, and they regarded each other as colleagues on common ground.
"Congratulations Miss Grey" As the board members congratulated Aun one by one, she couldn't help but smile so much that her cheeks began to hurt. She was in a daze of happiness with her achievement, and she wouldn't complain if the day never ended. Despite the somewhat unpleasant morning she had experienced, the news of her success washed away all the bitterness she had felt.
Reflecting on her morning, Aun remembered how JungYun had pushed her into the shower cabin, sending a chill of unfamiliar emotions down her spine. She felt sensations she had never encountered before, but before the cold water could fully drench her, she snapped back to her senses and quickly escaped his sight, resulting in them showering separately. Later, she discovered that the scheduled meeting was a lie, orchestrated by JungYun to get her to bathe with him.
"Ms. Grey, or should I address you as Mrs. Jeon?" Jae-Min's words caught her attention, and Aun quickly glanced around to ensure no one else had heard. "Ms. Grey would be appropriate, as all this hard work was done when I was still a Grey, not the Jeon who came later."
"But you're married, Aun," Jae-Min questioned, observing her rolling her eyes. "Only on paper," she replied, her tone indicating her reluctance to be called a Jeon unless she wanted someone to know she was JungYun's wife. Jae-Min nodded understandingly. "Anyway, congratulations on your success," he beamed and shook hands with her.
As the official contract for the market launch was signed, Aun and the other officials carefully reviewed the terms and put their signatures on the bond, granting them the license to introduce her invention to the world. The vice-chair expressed his well wishes for Aun's success in obtaining government approval as well, flashing a professional smile.
Once the meeting concluded, the board members filed out of the conference hall one by one to continue with their daily tasks. Only the CEO, Aun, and the chairman remained in the room. Aun exchanged a smile with Jae-Min before her gaze shifted to JungYun, giving him a neutral look.
"We'll meet again, Aun," Jae-Min patted her shoulder and exited the room to attend to his work. Now that Aun was alone with JungYun, she decided it was time to leave the building, as she no longer had any reason to stay. However, before she could step outside, JungYun called her out.
"Can I have a word with you, Mrs Jeon"
"It's Ms. Grey for you, Mr. Jeon, and the last thing I want is for people to recognize me as your wife," she said, crossing her arms and maintaining a stern gaze. "They will when they check out my Wikipedia page," he responded, seemingly unfazed.
Aun's heart raced as she considered the potential consequences of JungYun revealing their marriage to the media or on social platforms. She was determined to protect her hard-earned success and ensure that her achievements were recognized for her own merit, not because she was the Chairman's wife. The thought of her colleagues at IRA Corp discovering their relationship and accusing her of favoritism sent a wave of worry through her.
"I want to make it clear, JungYun," Aun asserted, her voice firm and unwavering. "I am dead serious about this. I don't want anyone to tarnish my accomplishments by associating them with our marriage. The backlash could be detrimental to both of us."
Her posture exuded confidence as she spoke, leaving no room for misunderstandings. Aun knew the importance of maintaining a level playing field in the competitive world of AI development. She couldn't afford any doubts or accusations of nepotism to cast a shadow over her achievements.
JungYun nodded, understanding the gravity of the situation. "I hear you, Aun. I would never want to jeopardize your hard work or the reputation of IRA Corp. I will respect your wishes and keep our marriage strictly confidential."
JungYun understood the potential challenges that could arise if their marriage became public knowledge. Aun's success as a developer and her upcoming ambassadorship would undoubtedly attract attention, and there would be people who would try to bring her down or hinder her progress if they knew about her marriage to him.
"If there is nothing to be mentioned about, I'm taking my leave Mr. Jeon" As he watched Aun leave the room, a sense of pride and longing washed over him. He admired her intelligence and determination, and the way she carried herself during the meeting had only made him more enamored with her. Her professional demeanor and the way she delivered her statements made her look even more captivating.
"Sometimes you're right, Ms. Grey," JungYun whispered to himself, a smile playing on his lips. "It's not just your beauty that captivates me, but also your intelligence and strength."
He knew he had to keep their marriage a secret to protect Aun's ambitions and goals. He couldn't wait for the day when they could openly celebrate their love and be together without any restrictions.
"You are driving me crazy, baby," he thought, his voice filled with anticipation. "I can't wait for the day when I can have you fully, without any constraints or secrecy."
