May 6, 2005

Stevie was chopping vegetables at the Island when Lindsey and the kids entered from the garage. They had completely moved into their Pacific Palisades Home, and though they still owned their Brentwood Home, Cory was staying in it.

"Hey Woah, Woah, Friday Folders." She states as her kids who are trying to bolt past her whine and turn back around dropping their backpacks down on the island next to her. Well, Seth does, teeny tiny Everliegh struggles so Lindsey plucks it from her hands and drops it on the island instead.

"Thank You, Daddy." Everleigh beams up at Lindsey. She's six and Stevie doesn't know what she did with her but whatever it was seemed to work because she had the perfect manners.

"You're welcome, sweetheart," Lindsey answers going over and kissing Stevie, causing Seth to groan in disgust. Prompting Lindsey to pull off of Stevie and kiss his head causing him to groan and mess with his hair where Lindsey kissed him.

"I want one. I want one." Everleigh states so Lindsey bends down and kisses her head too.

"What's for dinner mom?" Seth questions.

"Ugh, well I'm chopping up vegetables for the salad and I'll be putting Pork Chops in the oven in a little bit, and then I'm going to make Cheesy Potatoes. Why?" Stevie questions swiping the onion off of her knife and wiping her hands on a kitchen towel before opening up her kid's backpacks and pulling out their Friday folders.

"I was wondering if I could wait until after dinner to do my homework." He looks up at her.

"No, you're going to do it right now. How much do you have?" Stevie questions.

"Just a reading worksheet," He tells her. Stevie opens up the homework folder in his bag and double checks.

"I want you to do it now sweet boy. What about you sweet girl?" Stevie asks.

"Nothing mama." She shakes her head.

Stevie double-checks to make sure and then she smiles. "Alright go run along and watch some TV, here you go Seth." Stevie sighs handing him his homework and his pencil.

"Should I grill these Angel?" Lindsey asks picking up the package of pork chops.

"I was hoping you'd ask, I've gotta talk to you...your office please?" Stevie asks.

"Sure." Lindsey nods. "Do your homework."

When they get to the office Lindsey leans against the desk.

"What's up?" He asks.

"I got a call today." She bites her lip.

"Who?" Lindsey inquires.

"Don." She states.

"Henley?" Lindsey asks.

"Yes, Don Henley...he is on tour right now and he was wondering if I'd come out with him next month for a couple of shows." Stevie shrugs.

"Wait...You want to go on tour with Don Henley?" Lindsey asks.

"I do...Honey, you're not doing anything and you could stay with the kids. I really want to do this. I never get to sing Leather and Lace live with him and it's one of my favorite songs. And when we first moved down here, the Eagles were one of our biggest inspirations. And you got to tour with the Everly brothers." Stevie gives him pleading eyes.

"I didn't sleep with Phil Everly though," Lindsey explains.

"Lindsey Don and I are both married now...we aren't going to sleep together." Stevie sighs.

"You've slept with married men before Steph." He explains.

"I know that...but I wasn't married then. Remember what we talked about when we got back together eight years ago?" She asks.

"Yes, new beginnings and all that." Lindsey nods.

"I'm not going to sleep with him, Lindsey." She shakes her head and grabs onto his shirt kissing him.

"I support you Steph, doesn't mean I like it, but I support you." Lindsey nods.

"Yeah, I can go." She beams up at him.

"You can go...only if you sleep with me tonight." He smirks.

"I always sleep with you." She states.

"No, I don't mean share a bed with me I mean..." He trails off.

"I know what you mean..." She smirks kissing him again.

It was then that Lindsey's office door bust open, and Stevie started laughing against his lips. "Mama check."

It was Seth asking Stevie to check over his homework, so she turned around and took it from her son going over to sit behind Lindsey's desk grabbing a pencil from his cup. She pulls her glasses off of her head and looks at it as Lindsey pouts still leaned up against his desk.

"Seth come here baby." Stevie states and Lindsey gives her a curious glance.

"What mama?" He asks.

"What's this word?" Stevie points to a word on the paper.

"It's um...it's...it's bog..."He looks at it really hard.

"No baby, it's dog...D-O-G." Stevie looks at him and Lindsey cocks his head.

It was then that Seth huffed in anger and he slammed his fist against Stevie's thigh and he groaned loudly.

"Hey, Ow...what's wrong Seth?" Stevie questions grabbing his hand.

"I always mess up my little ds and bs." He tells her.

"Anything else Seth?" Stevie inquires.

"Ws and Vs...and 6s and 9s. And sometimes I mix up two-digit numbers." He states angrily.

"Okay, hey hey...it's nothing to worry about. It's okay, give me a hug." Stevie pulls him into her arms.

"What's wrong with me mommy. Everyone else can do it perfectly fine." He whines.

"Nothing baby, nothing is wrong with you. But I think I need to call Uncle Mick." Stevie sighs.

"Dyslexia?" Lindsey whispers.

Stevie just nods in response. "I don't know Lindsey but I think so."

"Think what mama?"

"Nothing baby don't worry about it right now." Stevie kisses his temple.

"Seth, come on let's go watch some cartoons with your sister." Lindsey smiles holding his hand out as Stevie reaches for the telephone.

"What did Mick say?" Lindsey inquires as Stevie brings out the seasoned pork chops. She springles ranch seasoning on them to make her kids eat them.

"He said that it sounds like it but we'd have to take it through the school and they'd have to test him. But I don't think we should do it right now. There are only two weeks of school left. I think we just...we read with him this summer and we try to work on it from home and then if he's still struggling when school starts that we bring it up to the school." Stevie shakes her head.

"I guess you're right, but it's going to be me because you're going to be gone this summer." Lindsey points out.

"Only in...well shit, I leave tomorrow for two weeks." She bites her lip knowing full well that she starts a two-week residency at Ceasars Palace tomorrow night.

"Mhm..." Lindsey nods.

"Well, let's just take them out for Ice Cream tonight and then do what we have planned and worry about Seth later," Stevie suggests.

"I'm fine with that." Lindsey nods taking his tongs and placing the pork chops down on the grill.
