Stevie had officially released Secret Love, the first single for her new album and Lindsey and the kids, where back at home. The album finished around Thanksgiving and they moved back in then and Stevie was thrilled to have her kids back within arms reach. She was definitely a mama bear and she hated it when her kid were not with her. But while they were at school, she was going to Ellen because she and another famous rockstar, Rod Stewart were going on tour together. She didn't know how it came about, but she thought it was the perfect precursor to her new album and the tour that was going to be following that one so she jumped at it and today they were announcing it.
"So Today, I love her so much, the One and Only Stevie Nicks is here, and Rod Stewart is here and they're coming out together!" Ellen introduces her and she and Rod Stewart come out and hug her.
"This is such a treat how long have you known each other, do you hang out or what's happening here?" Ellen asks.
"Would you like to answer that question Stevie?" Rod comes closer to her.
"We met a long long time ago, twice. Once I don't remember, I think it was a rehearsal and he was just there?"
"Wait when what year?"
"Maybe the late seventies and the was just a quick hello, how are you kind of thing. And then we met...we kind of met, you had a party,"
"Oh I did." He nods. "Just the one.'
"He had a very beautiful party at his very beautiful house and I walked by his living room and I stopped I was entranced because there were so many beautiful Tiffany Lamps and I'm a lamp person that I just stopped and I had a little glass of wine in my hand."
"Or two or three." Rod jumps in touching her bicep.
"And I started to walk towards the living room and Mr. Stewart said please don't take that wine in there."
"I've been to your house.it's a very lovely house. " Ellen starts.
"No this was a different house." Rod shakes his head.
"This was a long, long, time ago."
"You were just a little tiny person then." Rod nods.
"Is that the last time you've seen each other?"
"Since last night."
"Really?"
"Yesterday, 20 minutes." Stevie nods.
"That's amazing so this is like very brand new as a couple here together."
"But you know I hang out with English people so for me, English People, I'm so familiar with them that even though I haven't seen or talked to Rod Stewart in many, many years it doesn't seem like that."
"But we are going to be seeing a lot of each other." Rod smiles.
"We are going to be seeing a lot of each other and that's good because I'm used to spending a lot of time with English People."
"I wonder why?"
"Well we're going on tour and it's going to be just fantastic." Stevie grins.
"Yeah." Rod nods. as the crowd goes wild.
"So what songs are you looking forward to hearing from Rod and Rod what songs are you looking forward to hearing from Stevie?"
"Leather and Lace I love that song, it's one of my favorites. Landslide, Stevie's trying to think of two of mine now."
"No I'm not, that is not true. So I'm going to tell you. Rod Stewart was a huge rock and roll star before Lindsey and I moved to Los Angeles so he was one of the huge people that inspired us the reason that we packed up and moved to LA so the songs, Ugh...Young Turks, Maggie May, First Cut Is the Deepest um...now I'm going blank, but I do know these songs but what's most important something you don't know this is really funny. Is that in 1979, um my brother and his girlfriend and I went to Aspen and we rented a place in the winter for four weeks and we went there for my brother to ski. He broke his leg the first day that we were there. And you can imagine the emergency room, super swearing, super not good language, a broken leg, so in order to stay for four weeks in this really expensive place that we rented, he said, my brother Chris said, so you're going to learn to Ski you and Chrissy, who was his girlfriend are going to learn to ski because I'll make it worth it. And we're going no no, we came here to sit and drink the hot toddy's and be the snowbunnies we didn't come here to work. So at six o'clock every morning, he would put on Do You Think I'm Sexy, and he would turn it on as loud as it would go, to just get us out of bed, we'd get up and we'd go at eight o'clock and we took ski lessons everyday for five days.a week for four weeks and I listened to Do you think I'm Sexy everyday for five hours and I learned to Ski to that song, and I never skied again."
"That's fantastic...And Rod, I have a gift for you, because I know you're going to be a daddy again ."
"Yep."
"And it's a little boy right."
"Yep a little boy."
"he won't have hair yet and I want him to look like you as soon as he's born." Ellen hands him a little outfit.
"He might have hair." Rod points out.
"Mine did." Stevie nods.
"Your son had hair when he was born?"
"A lot...brown curls just like Lindsey." Stevie nods.
"Really...well if he doesn't have hair...there you go...Everyone is going to be rewarded today because you're all getting tickets to the Heart and Soul Tour that go on sale next week. And when we get back from the break, Stevie will be performing a classic for you all." Ellen pushes them to commercial.
Karen and Stevie left after the Ellen Show to pick up the kids from school, as Lindsey was back in the studio working on a new solo album, because after Stevie had started recording In Your Dreams, he started itching to get back into the studio and start working so that's what he did. And as soon as Stevie would be getting home from tour, Lindsey would be going out on tour.
