March 1, 2009
Luckily Seth and Everleigh were on Spring Break from March 3-7. Lori would be performing with them until after the concert in Rosemont on the eighth and then she'd leave with the kids to bring them back to California for school, but they still got to be with their parents for their spring break and they got to go to Pennsylvania, Minnesota, and Illinois. Stevie even promised that she'd take Everleigh to the Mall of America while they were in Minnesota.
"Jesus Christ, I need to change," Stevie said looking in the mirror.
"Why?"Lindsey questions from his spot on the couch in her-their-dressing room.
"Come look at me," Stevie states he just groans and rolls off the couch going up to her.
"We're matching in red it's fine...and besides, you look sexy in red." He kisses her temple.
"Look at my hips and my ass how did that happen?" She questions turning around in the mirror.
"Seth and Everleigh happened...They also did wonders to these." He reaches up and squeezes her breasts as she elbows him in the chest.
"I'm serious, I look fat, this is why I don't wear color." She shakes her head.
"You need to wear more color frankly. Hell even at home, your side of the closet is mostly black." He tells her.
"Lindsey." She whines.
"You look amazing, stop worrying about it." Lindsey pulls her into his arms and kisses her sweetly.
"Well, I don't think I'll be changing out of the black outfit after Rhiannon." She points at him.
"Stop it, it's all going to be fine," Lindsey tells her.
When it gets to Landslide, she turns to Lindsey and she starts talking to him away from her Microphone and he just shakes his head and she sighs getting closer to him.
"I want to dedicate this to the kids."
"Well they're your kids." He shrugs.
"I can do it?" She questions.
"Why wouldn't you. They're your kids." He tells.
She just smiles and turns back to the audience. "He can't hear me. I have Ear monitors in, he doesn't so we're basically on two different planets. So..." She turns to him making a talking gesture with her hands. He just shakes his head "I know you can't hear me. He can't hear a word I'm saying. But can you hear me sing?"
He steps closer to her and makes a motion between her microphone and his speaker by his microphone.
"Okay, Alright. This next song is a very special song and I always like to dedicate this to someone special if there is somebody...that I...you know somebody like children that I know and I love and I happen to have two. Mr. Seth Buckingham and Miss. Everleigh Buckingham. They're here tonight and they are so excited so I'd like to dedicate this to them so Seth, Everleigh this is for you. I used to sing it to you every night when you were babies, I used to sing it to you all of the time when you were safe and protected in my belly and I'm singing it again for you tonight. This is Landslide." She had dedicated that song to Seth multiple times but never to Everleigh, she didn't even think she ever spoke Everleigh's name to her fans before.
As they were walking off stage that night, Everleigh at ten years old launched herself at her mother.
"Well, this hasn't happened in a while." Stevie chuckles rubbing Everleigh's back. Everleigh's nine and she's at that stage in her life where her mother is not her favorite person. Stevie wasn't expecting it to happen this early she thought she had a few more good years with her daughter.
"You've never dedicated a song to me before." She states.
"You're right and I'm sorry about that." Stevie kisses her blonde straight hair. Seth was a carbon copy of Lindsey down to the eyes and the same could be said about Stevie and Everleigh. Everleigh was a carbon copy of her.
"Can I get a hug?" Lindsey questions after he guzzled down a bottle of water.
"You didn't dedicate a song to me." Everleigh squeezes her mother tighter and buries her head in Stevie's breasts.
"I'm responsible for your life." Lindsey points out.
"Agh, I think I'm actually more responsible for giving her life." Stevie points out but Everleigh pulls away from her mother anyway and goes to hug her dad but she makes a face.
"What?" Lindsey questions as Stevie sucks down her own water.
"Your sweaty and stinky." She pouts.
"WELL THEN!" Lindsey pulls away from her and crosses his arms.
"I don't know I kinda like it." Stevie goes up behind him and squeezes his shoulders, whispering into his ear before she goes to hug her son. Seth wasn't really phased by the dedication, he was more in tune with the music.
Despite being dyslexic he had a thing for music so as they're just lounging in the green room waiting for Stevie to get changed and ready to head back to the hotel, Seth looked at his father, "Dad would you...could you teach me how to play guitar?"
"What?" Lindsey asks.
"I want to learn how to play guitar." He states.
"Well, I can't read music but I can sure try to help you. I know the chords and all of that." Lindsey smiles.
"Yeah?" Seth inquires.
"Of course. Tell you what, when mom and I get home in July, if you still want me too, I'll take you to the music store and get you situated witha real guitar alright?" Lindsey asks.
"Yeah, thanks, dad." Seth pulls him into a hug right as Stevie walks out.
"What's going on here?" She questions.
"Dad's going to teach me how to play guitar." Seth states.
"Really, that's exciting." Stevie grins.

Later that night, Stevie's sitting up in bed rubbing her lotion on her hands when Lindsey plops down at the foot.
"He actually asked me to teach him how to play."
"You're his father, he loves you." Stevie shrugs. "And Besides your a pretty fucking fantastic guitar player."
"You have to say that because you're my wife." Lindsey states.
"I'm serious Lindsey." She crawls towards him and hooks her left arm around his shoulders, her head laying on his right shoulder.
