Chapter 33 Damon's POV

When I woke up, I felt like crap.
I feel like I failed, not only my rep but more importantly failed to actually connect with Payson.

I got up and went to the kitchen.
I saw a note and picked it up and opened it up to read it.

I put my hands in my head and said "crap"
Payson left.
I go to the garage to see if she's still here so I can explain.
But when I opened the door, she really left.

I came back in and I knew I had to tell Sasha before the media.

I hear my phone and I look to see it's Sasha.
I pick it up and the first thing I hear.
"Why am I seeing Ashley on the media saying she's pregnant with your child!!"
Yup he found out but how?
"How did you.."
"She posted about it Damon and now everyone is going wild"
I sigh "I can explain"
"Where's Payson? Is she still there?"
"She left"
Sasha sighs and says "get here now"
He hangs up and I sigh.
I screwed up bad.
I go upstairs and get dressed.
Then I grabbed my keys and left to go to the office.

I hear a ring and I look and automatically answered it.
"Hello" I say.
"Damon, so I read Payson's book, I loved it, I want it published. I want to get to meet her, can she come in two weeks for a meeting?"
"Yeah I can get her but why two weeks? "
"Because I see the media Damon, she left didn't she?"
"Yeah she did"
"I need you to get her, this is really good and it can change her life"
"I know that's why I called you"
"Yes we'll get her and I can't wait to see her"
"Cant wait for her to meet you"
"Bye Damon"
"Bye"
I hang up and continue to drive.
Once I got there I went into Sasha's office.
"Close the door and sit"
I do as he says and wait for him to speak.
"When?"
"What?"
"When did you guys hook up?"
"A few months ago, she came at the house when Payson was at Taylor's her friend and I tried to get rid of her.."
"But you couldn't resist her"
I stay silent.
"Damon did you use protection"
"She's on birth control well I thought she was"
"I think it's fake"
"What?"
"Damon, she saw Payson, you did stop partying and you never snuck out and got drunk like a skunk , I knew you were interested in Payson the last few months"
"So you think she's faking her pregnancy?"
"Yes I do and I want a pee test"
"How are you..?"
"I'll handle it, now you said Payson left?"
"Yeah she left this"
I place the note on his desk and he takes it then reads it to himself.
He nods and says "you need to get her"
I nod "so is she suppose to still live with me?"
He sighs and says "yes but she already left so, maybe what I can do is talk to her by herself and see what I can do but what you can do is try to explain yourself"
I nod and he said "Damon I did see a change in you, your music I herd your going back to your roots, Carter said your happier"
"Yeah" I say
"You may go, but have you tried contacting Payson yet?"
"No I haven't"
"I say do it and check her apartment, her friends, and maybe ask Victoria"
"When you see Payson I contacted Mr. Ambrose,  Payson  wrote an amazing book and he's checking it out and he wants a meeting with her in two weeks "
"I'll let her know"

I nod and walk out and contact Victoria first.
"You stupid what the hell did you do to Payson?" was the first thing she said when I called.
"Victoria I know but let me explain"
"You better have a good one"
I explained everything, yes even how it was fake.
She understood but still thought for answering the door for Ashley was stupid, which I admit I was stupid for doing it.
"Has she contacted you or been there?"
"No Damon I'm sorry"
"It's ok thanks for trying"
"I'll message her or try to reach out if you want me to"
"Nah don't worry about it, I think she just needs some space"
"You love her don't you?"
Love that's a deep word, I never knew what a romance love was.
Maybe it's how I feel for Payson, I can easily talk to her, I can be myself, she's not a stick, she's beautiful.
"Damon I believe you do"
"Yeah well I gotta go Victoria"
"Bye Damon"
I hang up and then I call Carter.

He saw the news and didn't believe Ashley either but also said I was stupid as well.
But he also said he see's the same in me and Payson.
"Dude even though it was fake, you and her, you can totally tell you both like each other"
"Victoria said the same thing"
"It's the truth, but no I haven't seen her"
I sigh and eventually we both hang up.

I know Taylor won't answer, but I decide to go pass her house.

I don't see Payson's Jeep or even Taylor's car.

I drive and then I decide to go to Payson's apartment.

When I get there I see both there cars.

I sigh and try to message Payson.

I wait for 20 minutes but she never answered.
I try to call but nope.
So eventually I decide to go inside.

Once I get to her door I knock.
I try to convince her to open the door but nothing.

Eventually I decide to leave. I drive home, so frustrated with myself.

How could I be so stupid?
How can I even get Payson to talk to me?

I pull up to my drive and message Sasha saying I couldn't get a hold of her and tried to go to her apartment but she never answered.

I got out and went in the house and decided to take a shower to clear my mind.

Once I get out I put in a pair of sweat pants and get into bed and just lay there.

I'm falling again, I can't believe it.
