Mia woke up the Wednesday of the first day of winter break more excited than she had been for a few weeks. Rushing through her morning routine, she brushed through her chocolate-colored hair fast before running to eat breakfast. Deciding on cereal, she ate her bowl so fast that her mother gave her a questioning look before going back to her phone. Her parents still had work for a few more days while Mia was already on break. After washing her bowl and saying bye to her parents who were leaving for work, she ran back to her room. Taking a deep breath, she opened her closet, ready to choose the perfect outfit for today. Settling on black plaid pants, a gray crop top, and a cropped black jean jacket, she got dressed. Securing on her favorite star necklace Mia unplugged her phone from the charger. She would put on her Docs right before she left. Mia may have woken up an hour later than she normally would, but Nathan texted her he wouldn't pick her up for another hour.

Opening her phone, Mia texted Hazel good morning and good luck on her date with Violet. Today, Hazel would broach the topic of Violet meeting Mia. After all, the two had been on a few dates and were officially dating. Hazel had also unofficially met Violet's best friends after picking her up at her house once. Mia hoped Violet would agree, after all, she needed to threaten her to make sure she didn't break her best friend's heart. Mia could work on being intimidating in the meantime.

Receiving a text from Nathan that he would be outside her house in ten minutes Mia excitedly shut off the tv and rushed around her house. Making sure no kitchen appliances were on and that she had everything she needed took a couple of minutes. Finally, she heard Nathan pull into her driveway so she pulled on her black boots.

"Good morning Mia. Are you ready for what I can assure you will be a boring day?" he greeted after she entered through the passenger seat.

Giving him a big smile, Mia replied that "I am so thrilled for today! I've been thinking about codenames. I would like to be called agent 0013. Think about it, thirteen is an unlucky number but it just sounds badass."

Nathan thought he would stop being surprised by Mia and her line of thinking, but clearly, he was wrong. "I don't use codenames. Also, why are you dressed in so much black?"

Mia rolled her eyes, "Because, Norman, I want to immerse myself in the role. If I feel badass, then I'll be the best spy there is. Duh." Nathan couldn't help the exasperated sigh that escaped him. Shrugging, he pulled out of her driveway and started the drive. "So where are we going first," Mia asked.

"First I'm dropping off the answers to the history test that's scheduled for the very first day back after the break for a junior. Then we're dropping off some...medication for Peyton in our grade. After that, Cloe has employed my services to get her toxic ex to leave her alone. I did a little research and he frequents a bar in town so that's where we'll end our mission."

"Aww, you called it a mission. This is so fun. Can I play music?" After he nodded, Mia plugged in her phone and some random pop song started to play.

Thankfully, the junior only lived eighteen minutes away. Nathan got out and went to the backseat. Pulling out a thick black folder he made his way to the front door. Mia stayed in the car, not caring about this particular job Nathan had, considering he was known for providing test answers. Mia watched as the junior, a boy with blond hair, came to the door and handed Nathan a wad of cash. Nathan gave him the test answers and started to make his way back to the car.

"Quick question," she inquired, "how do you get all these test answers? Do you possibly pay some teachers off?" her head tilted to the side as she asked.

Letting out a laugh, he shook his head. "No, I just...find a way."

"That's honestly super suspicious Nathan."
