Chapter 1
Deaton stood in the back of the clinic, his heart heavy as he examined x-rays from a border collie's broken leg. He sighed, putting the pictures into one of his various files.
There was the tinkling chime of the front door opening, and Deaton cursed himself for not locking the door.
"We're closed. You'll have to come back in earlier hours." He told the person calmly.
He heard a dry cough, "I don't know, Doc. I think I'm in need of some supernatural doctor abilities, don't you think?"
He let out a gasp, and spun around, seeing a girl leaning against the doorway, covered in dirt, grass, and her own blood.
"Oh my God! Katherine?!" He breathed, still shocked.
She gave him a lazy smirk, "Hello, Doc." she rasped, "I'm here for my annual check up." With that she fell to the cold floor, unconcious.
