My eyes flickered open from the light shining into the room. We must have forgotten to close the curtains last night. I turn my body and go to stand up. I slowly lift my body from the bed but I'm sore. I take a deep breath and lift my body up with full force. I waddle over to the curtains and draw them closed. When I turn around, Romeo is leaned against the headboard of his bed and rubbing his tired eyes. I jump a little, expecting him to be sleeping.

"Morning baby, are you okay?" His voice is caring.
"I'm okay... a little sore." My voice quietens as I nearer the end of my sentence. Romeo opens his arms to me and I dissolve right into his touch. His usual smell fills my senses and everything feels perfect.

"I need to shower." I mumble, not wanting to pull away. His arms drop from around me but then loop around my neck instead.
"Go. When you've finished breakfast will be ready." He urges me on.

I grab a towel from a pile and place it onto a rack in his ensuite. I yank his t-shirt over my head and drop it to the flower. I turn the shower on and the hot water refreshes my body. I rub my hands over my eyes as the water runs down my back.

I walk to his kitchen to find Romeo laying different foods out on plates and making sure it looks perfect. I walk over to the platter of colourful fruits and bring a strawberry to my mouth.

We sit next to eachother and pick at the food in front of us. Everything was set out neatly and nothing tasted bad. Romeo held onto my thigh as I tapped my nails at the countertop.

"What are you thinking about?" He asks.
"Can we go to the beach again today?" I turn my head to look him in the eyes.
"Sure but I'm not going in the water today." He states.
"Okay me neither." I just wanted to walk along the beach for the day.

We get ready together and he pecks a kiss to my cheek as I rub the lip balm over my lips. I pop my lips together and take a look at myself. My hair needs cutting but other than that, I look great.

I go to his en-suite and brush my teeth. He brushes his after mine and I sit on the last stair to put my shoes on. When I tie the second lace, I look up to Romeo at the top of the stairs with his arms folded.

"What?" I question. I have no idea what he's doing.
"Nothing. Just wanted to tease you." He hops down the stairs and hugs me from behind. I lean into his hold and grab his wrists. I turn my body to face him.

"Ready?" I look up to his eyes.
"Always ready." He takes my hand and leads me out the door. I check my back pocket for my phone. It's not there.

"Shit. I forgot my phone." I shout. Romeo reaches into the pocket of his shorts and pulls my phone out.
"Got it."
"Oh my god. Where was it?" My pitch gets higher while I snatch it from him.
"On charge from overnight."
"Ugh thank you. You're amazing!" I kiss his cheek.

While we get closer to the beach, kids are running around and screaming. It's busy. It's Saturday, everyone's with their friends and family for the day. We take our spot on the sand and Romeo rubs out the creases in the blanket he brought. I lay my head in my arms and close my eyes.

Crashing waves echo through my ears. The sun heats my back and I open my eyes to Romeo looking out to the ocean.
"What are you looking at?" I mumble.
"Nothing really, just enjoying the view." He turns his head to me and eyes me up and down. I giggle and shake my head. Instead of laying in my arms, I lean against Romeo's shoulder.

"When's your birthday?" I ask, in the midst of silence.
"Huh?"
"When's your birthday?" I repeat.
"8th June. You just missed it." He replies.
"Oh right." I nod my head.

I close my eyes again and Romeo rubs up and down my arm. I hold onto his wrist as he continues.

"Chiara?" He whispers, his hot breath fanning over my ear.
"Hmm?"
"What's your favourite thing about Italy?" His tone curious.
"Other than you? It would be the culture. From what I've seen, everything is so easy-going and simple. I love it." I start to rant but I make sure to keep closed.

Repeated gasps fall around us and I open my eyes immediately. A man wearing a blue flowing shirt is kneeled on one knee. Oh my god! The girl has her hands to her face, shocked. She nods and I know she said yes. They turn into an embrace and everyone claps around them.

"Romeo! Did you see that? He proposed! It was so sweet." I ramble.
"You are so sweet. I can't wait for that to be us." He comments.

I feel my cheeks turn pink and he pecks a kiss to my nose.
"Me too." I go to peck him but my attention goes to what I'm guessing is the couples family running towards them. An older woman hugs the girl tightly and my head falls a little more in admiration.

"She's going to look amazing in her wedding dress. I already know it!" I squeal.
"Bet you'd look better in her wedding dress." I nudge him as I appreciate the couple deep in love.
