On the way home, Rose kept nudging me when she noticed Romeo staring. She tried to be discreet but I think Romeo had noticed since he started looking out of the window and humming a tune is his head.
I wish Rose hadn't nudged me, Romeo would still have been looking at me and listening in to our girly conversation. Usually if someone was listening in on my conversation I would be so mad but with Romeo... it was different. I liked him listening in.
The car stumbled on a bump in the road and Romeo's knee grazed my own. I looked down to our touching knees and a small smirk plastered on Romeos sweet face. He definitely knew what he was doing. It was my time to mess with him.
As we swerved down a turning road, I put my hand on Romeos thigh and pretended to lose balance. He was quite taken aback but I played it off with a little laugh. God I'm so desperate for him. From the corner of my eye, I saw hun smile to himself. A smile that no one could get rid of. A moment stuck in his head for days.
The rest of the ride home was intense. The sensual tension in the air increased as the small winds made the skirt of my dress dance around my thighs. Of course Romeo was looking. Eventually I felt him tug at the side of the dress as if it was too much for him to handle. That's when I looked up to notice the security staring at me through the little mirror.
My cheeks turn red and I look down at my shoes so I don't have to make eye contact with anyone and pretend to fall asleep. I was tired but not tired enough to fall asleep. Especially not next to Romeo. That's so embarrassing. When fake sleeping at least I know I'm not drooling or snoring.
The car comes to a halt and Rose shakes me a little to 'wake me up' and I 'wake up' just out of it. I pretend to act like I've just had the best dream and would do anything to be back there. That's a lie. My dream life is right here.
As we get back in the house, Dad offers me a coffee since we still have dinner plans for tonight. I can't fall asleep and miss that. Unless Romeo's not coming. I don't want to be there.
While Dads making me a coffee in the Kitchen, Rose offers to take all my new belongings to my bedroom and I thank her and watch her toddle off happily. So it's just me and Romeo. Alone.
"Bella, you have such good style! You're going to look great in all those new outfits." Romeo says smiling at me. I can't tell if it's a friendly smile or a flirty smile. "Bella?" I ask. What does that mean. And with that Romeo walks off to my Father in the kitchen and to my surprise Rose is back and she tugs me to my room.
"Give me a fashion show then!" She blurts.
"Ok, okay! I will. Get out then so I can change!"She walks out winking at me. Why the wink? I think to myself. I brush it off, trying to not overthink it too much. I pull over a blue spotted top with a ruffled neck line and a tight, white skirt.
"Ok come in I'm ready!"
To my surprise, it's not Rose who walks in. Romeo. The blonde highlights in his messy brown hair peek through from the sunlight beaming into my room and his beautiful hazel eyes staring at my outfit. My body."Hm?" I say after I see his mouth moving.
"Coffee. Your coffee. You forgot it." He says while passing it to me. As I grab the coffee, our fingers touch and stupid self drops it. Hot coffee all over his T-shirt.
"Shit. I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to drop it. Not all over you." I stumble on my words. Why do I have to be so stupid? God Chiara why can't you just be normal. I hear that I'm my moms voice. She's said that to me enough times I thought that I was so different. Barely even humane.I turn my back to Romeo feeling the unshed tears pool in my eyes. Fuck. He can't see me like this. I'm a mess. A big fat fucking mess. What was I thinking? A guy like him... wanting me? Never! I was definitely overthinking everything that happened. It was all just friendly.
A warm hand touches my shoulder.
"What is it Chi? Are you alright? Turn around. Talk to me."
Of course. Romeo trying to save me. I can't let myself get so attached to him.
