27-Can't Be Love

Shawn sat there in the private cabin he booked in a restaurant. Shaking his left leg which was placed on the right one, he was just scrolling through his phone waiting for Paul. He wanted to meet him and tell him what he had done to have his advice on the situation. He would've been careless if he didn't want Camila to not get hurt in the process. He knew eventually she'll get hurt but he was determined to put Galitzine in jail.

Shawn snapped his head up as Paul entered the cabin in his three piece looking like the rich intimidating businessman. It was actually Paul's impact on Shawn that he always kept himself presentable, serving the good looks which were genetic but spending more money on his style. His Armani jeans, Calvin boots, Emporium Armani watch and Ck jacket was proof of how Shawn was willing to pay for his style.

"Hey! Man." Shawn said as both bumped their fists. This was their thing since he was a kid. A waitress came and put coffee on the table for both of them.

"So I'm assuming you quit your mission in the middle which isn't your thing to do...Well I came to know that you brought some girl with you from Miami and quit everything for her..... Shawn Mendes can't quit it's impossible or Is it." Paul took a sip and said those words with his heavy manly intimidating voice and confident face expression. It was insane how much personality Shawn had absorbed from this man. The only thing that was making him different was his childhood memories indulging harshness and hardness in his heart.

"You know me too well Paul." Shawn smirked as he heard Paul predicting what was going on with him. "I left the mission but I didn't quit. It's still there but now my plans are changed." He told.

"And what is the change." Paul asked. He was the one Shawn could trust blindly just like you could trust your father.

"There's a traitor on our side and worst thing is that I don't know who he or she is." He said and then leaned forward to place his hands on the table. "And I have to trust one of them, even if I don't want cause I need the help of higher authority for this matter."

"Hmm" Paul said understanding what Shawn was worried for. "So trust." He said and Shawn lifted his eyebrow in question. "Trust someone cause you need that Shawn but remember you've to think out of the box.. sometimes a person you know the best turned out to be a person you know nothing about." And here was the life advice from Paul John Batman who never held himself back from giving him life lessons.

"Uff!" Shawn let out as he blew the air filled in his mouth. "There's a third person involved in it." He wanted to tell him about the situation. "I don't wanna hurt her but I feel like she would get hurt eventually." He said looking at his hands on the table.

"Do you love her?" Paul asked.

"No..I mean I like her but it can't be love, I just want to protect her that's it." He told.

"I see." Paul noded. "If she doesn't want you then it's good but if she do then it's quite complicated."

"And what if she wants me should I give in or hold it back." Shawn asked.

"Go for it if you think you feel the same way but don't cross the limit. Enjoy your life dude but don't destroy her's. I would just say don't give in completely cause if she'll know that you betrayed her, she would see everything you did for her as a lie. So don't commit anything which you don't want her to assume as lie until she knows the truth."

"She thinks that I want to date her cause of that shitty plan they made." Shawn sighed looking at the table. "I want to tell her a truth but I can't, if she knew she'll lose her trust on me."

"You know Mendes, you could'nt be able to hold her here for so long. She isn't Canadian citizen. Her guardians would claim her anytime and she would be sent back to her country and you know how influential they are."

"Fuck I didn't think about that...there should be a way to go through it." Shawn said stressing his mind.

"Of course there is always a way Shawn."

"And what is it?"

"Marry her..."

"What?" Shawn said in shock.

"I said marry her so that you would have a legal right over her to keep her here."

"How can I marry her when we are not even close to dating. And to be honest I don't wanna marry her." He shrugged.

"It would only be a paper marriage Shawn..now it's your job to think about how you gonna convince her for paper marriage."

"You're telling me to jump in fire and make it safe for myself really?"

"It's not that difficult Shawn. Just tell her the truth about why paper marriage is necessary. Tell her that she would be sent back if she didn't do it. I don't think she would have problem with that."

Shawn noded his head in agreement. He understood what he was saying but wasn't sure he would be able to push himself into this mess which he tried to avoid as much as possible. Putting his sunglasses on, his next meeting was with Hannah to whom he refused to meet inside coffee shop. Now he was standing in parking lot with his back leaned on the wall when Hannah parked her car and he took a seat in it.

"So why did you quit your job Mendes would you explain?" Wearing a pastel sweater and black pants, she asked him firmly.

"You know I don't give explanations but for your information, I'm still very much in the game." He told her.

"You brought the girl with you, what the heck you are trying to do Shawn?" She said in anger.

"Just arrange my meeting with higher authority and I'll explain everything otherwise the girl is more than willing to live with me and no one would took her back until I want." He spat and reached for the door handle.

"You probably don't know Galitzines, he would murder you if you wouldn't let the girl go away." Hannah warned him in fury from behind as he turned to exit. She was angry at his attitude. He didn't even answer her before leaving.

"I told you if he won't give her back to us in a week, I would kill him by my own hands." Nicholas roared in his phone.

"I don't give a fuck about whatever you had with that fuckin Mendes, If you want him alive, you would have to convince him in couple of days or I'll do my job." He told the other person on phone and shut the call.

"Your spy girl isn't enough I think." Alejandro said as soon as he dropped the phone.

"I think you need to give her a time, I'm sure she'll do it and if she'd never then I'll take the other way." Nicholas told his father.

"You have to take another way my son." Alejandro spat. "You know that girl is heir of the 50 percent shares of our company." He came forward to close the distance between them. "You'll better do it." He said patting his shoulder and left.
