Chapter 32: Training

Parang nakahinga nang maluwag si Zam na hindi pala tutuong naglive in sina Davin at Narja.
"If so, why are we pretending as couple if the two of you are not lovers and you dont need to hurt her feelings?"

"Actually we had a mutual understanding, probably because of how frequent we we're together, but no courtship happened between us! When i refused to live with her, she threatened me to find someone else!"

"Kaya pala... At nasaktan siya kaya siya gumaganti ngayon. Malas ko lang at ako pa ang nagamit. But obviously you still have feelings for each other, why don't you give up your pride and reconcile?"

Hindi na sumagot si Davin at itinuloy na nito ang pagkain kaya gumaya na rin siya dito kahit na nag uumapaw pa ang kagustuhan na malaman ang tutuong nasa loob ng binata.

Pag uwe nila sa condo ay hindi agad sila pumasok sa kani kaniyang room.
"Can you make a coffee for us please?"

Tumango si Zam at ngumiti nang lihim pagtalikod. Mukhang itutuloy nila ang naputol na pag uusap kanina.

"Here's your coffee sir, enjoy your self!"
Nagkunwari siyang aalis na dala ang isang tasa ng kape papasok sa kuwarto.

"Wait!"
Mabilis na tumayo si Davin sabay pigil sa kanyang braso kaya napangiti siya sa sarili.

"Why sir?"

"Lets continue our conversation. About your question if i still have a feelings for Narja, i didn't love her the way she wanted. And I, never dreamed of a wife who has a blood of a murderer!"

Nanliit si Zam sa nakitang apoy sa mga mata ni Davin, ano ba talaga ang mga nangyari sa pagitan ng pamilya nito at sa pangulo? May pinatay ba ang current president sa myembro ng pamilya nito?

"Did the president knows that you and Narja are not in good term anymore?"
Tumango si Davin.

"Buti hindi ka pinapalayas dito at hindi ipinapa cancel ang mga business permit niyo?"
Hindi intention ni Zam na ipaintindi sa binata ang laman ng isip niya kaya nagulat siya nang sumagot ito ng tama.

"He will not do that! Otherwise we will also cancel the permit of his multi billion businesses in my country and all of his hidden treasures will be exposed throughout the Philippines. Specially now that he was re-elected, he will not risk his power for my life and my studies!"

Dati na'ng inis si Zam sa mga alegasyon tungkol sa pinakamataas na tao sa bansa na nagkataong ka-apelyedo pa ng mama niya, pero hindi niya sukat akalain na may isang banyaga na magpapatunay na tutuo ang mga iniisip niyang bintang at mga haka haka.
"That also means you are safe from him, then who are those people trying to harm you and why do you need to be surrounded by bodyguards?"

Hindi makapaniwalang tinitigan siya ni Davin habang naka buka ang mga bibig na parang may gustong sabihin pero hindi niya magawang ituloy.
"I'm a... I am a naturally weak boy and a son of a wealthy man. My father was very disappointed with me, infact he wanted me to join the military to learn to fight and defend myself, but my mother dis agreed. Narja knows my defect and i am worried that she will use my cowardice to hold my neck when i come back here in the Philippines. Then a manager of one of our hotel who also happens to be my friend, has a filipina girlfriend. He adviced me to hire a female and beautiful bodyguard who's willing to pretend as my bride to be. He asked his girlfriend to find one and they got you!"

Natuwa si Zam sa pagkakaalam na may boyfriend na ang kaibigan niya.
"Is your friend a good man?"

"Why?"

"Because Laura, his girlfriend is a very dear friend of mine!"

"Really? Wow i should have known right away why that woman is also good in martial arts. I even offered her this job, haha! But she refused and recommended you instead. She also told us that you are better than her and even saved her from the bandit!"

Hindi napigilan ni Zam na mamula ang pisngi dahil sa selos at papuri. Kung nagkataon pala na pumayag si Laura eh siya dapat ang narito sa lugar niya?
"M-my father was the one who taught her and almost every one in our place!"

"Yah, she said that too. By the way, there's something that i would like from you, can you teach me how to defend my self?"

Nagulat si Zam, akala ba niya ay duwag at mahina ito? Bakit gusto nitong matuto? Ayaw na ng bodyguard?
"N-no problem sir!"

"That also! I hate the word sir when it comes from your mouth. Learn to call me Davin, just Davin no sir. When we're outside, you can call me honey or sweetheart, will you?"

"O-okey, but only in front of those people whom you wanted to believe our lies, haha!"

"Alright, hahaha!"

Unang itinuro ni Zam kay Davin ang pagsangga o pag agaw ng armas kapag inulos ito ng patalim o tinutukan ng baril sa malapitan.
"Let's try with a knife."

Inutusan ni Zam na tutukan siya nito ng kutsilyo sa leeg mula sa likuran.
"For example if something like this pointed on your neck. Don't panic, stay calm. If the culprit asking for something, slowly raise your hands and pretend to agree, then grab the hand that holding the knife and full away from you then pull it down while twisting it..."

Medyo nadadala ng emotion ang dalaga kaya napalakas ang batak niya pababa sa braso ni Davin. Nasaktan ang lalaki pero hindi ito nagpahalata.
"Got it?"

Sabay talikod para itago ang pag-ngiwi ng bibig.
"Ouch!"

"When you're face to face with the attacker with a knife, then thrust it towards your stomach, step forward fourty five degrees outside depends on what hand he used to hold the knife, then use your hands to parry the weapon up then grab his hand that held a knife, then use your other hand to push his face, then sandwich his hand in your armpit, grab the knife from him or chop it using your fist so that the knife will fell from his grip!"

Habang tinuturuan ni Zam ang lalaki ay hindi maiwasan na magdikit ang mga katawan nila at malanghap ang hininga ng bawat isa.
