Lucius was going to leave again.

It reminded Lucian of the time when he left for eighteen blue moons. His brother's departure started all of it.  It was a bittersweet memory that he always wanted to remember but at the same time, he didn't want to reminisce any of it. He understood nothing of the world. He was oblivious to all the pain outside of those wooden fortifications for he was experiencing the turmoil that his own kind had caused him. Lucius never told him of what his parents were thinking. They discovered that their parents' souls were inside Lucius. But he guessed that either Lucius was simply ignoring the voices in his head or his parents were too ashamed of speaking too much for their cowardly deeds. Either way, he really didn't mind if they tried to reach up to him. There might be a day when he can finally have it in his heart to make way for forgiveness. Until then, he will be throwing imaginary tomatoes at his parents in his mind.

He was a broken toy. He went through all the numbing pain because of the origin of their fear that he inevitably fell into in the end.

But he regretted nothing.

They were misused...

They were abused...

And they turned to the option of shutting themselves off from the world.

Was their isolation the cause of moving on? Was it the cause of maturation and learning from mistakes? Was it just cowardliness that led them to their secludedness? No matter what reason it all led to this. They shouldn't dwell in fear. They shouldn't let it chase them into hiding. They shouldn't have let it eat away their purpose.

They should have kept providing the light for others and remove the selfishness flowing through their thoughts.

But it was too late to point fingers. If one did so, Lucian would bite the digit off.

The world was still consumed by complete darkness. Such darkness didn't let a small beam of light escape from any moon or sun. Lucian always gazed up to these rulers of the skies and expected them to lose hope and stop shining altogether since their efforts were all in vain.

But they didn't...

Their light never faltered. They never stopped reaching out to them because it was their duty to continue on providing luminescence even if the thickest of clouds were stopping them to do so. With this belief, Lucian's sheer will grew larger and stronger as if it was fire being fed by those asking it for more warmth.

The sun was in its rest from a losing battle with the clouds that were depriving it from its throne. It retired for the night and gave the throne to the moon. Everyone was in their slumber and only two pairs of eyes were open to the truth of things. They weren't going to run away. This was their duty. The world was their responsibility. This was the very reason why they possessed this power.

Lucius mounted on his pegasus like that very memory Lucian had of him. There was a huge contrast between that day and this one.  At this very moment,  the younger one did not bid him farewell. He did not hand him a flower that would aid his luck on his journey. He was not holding his okaasan's hand nor was he dreaming that one day he will be able to join him.

At this very time...he will not be seeing him off for the very reason that he will be accompanying him in his last journey.

It was a journey that might cost the halt of their existence...

Both of them heard a whimper from behind  and Lucian turned around and found Fenris gazing at them with curiosity. He did sleep between him and Samael. Did his absence wake him up?

Fenris worried too much for Lucian. He didn't bother rousing his human as he searched for their mate on his own by catching that sweet sweet scent that he had. He wondered where Lucian was and why the blonde wasn't beside him. The man was warm and he always hugged Fenris. He loved cuddles and he never pushed Fenris away. Fenris loved Lucian very much.  And now seeing him and his older brother in the verge of leaving, he got extremely worried.
