Chapter 14: Origin, Element, and Circuits
Ever since the moment that Jason met the god of dreams, Hypnos, and learned about this world's circumstances, he learned that it wasn't just his survival that also took priority. This world would eventually be culled. How fuck up is that? The rating is from 1 out of 10; Jason would rate it 100. When he was transported into this world unannounced and without his permission, he thought that he would prevent Iason's fate and change this body's destiny to his liking. There was also one time when he thought about how lucky he is that he wasn't summoned into the Fate Grand Order franchise and didn't become an additional master, just like those Self Inserts that he has read in those fanfictions. Now, low and behold— it seems that the end of this world is near!
Jason wanted to freak out. He does. Can't he just get transported into something like a slice-of-life-safe world? He was just a normal guy just like those Self Insert in those fanfictions. He was like some of them who didn't want to deal with this shit. Helping on saving the world— he was certain that he was an absolute shit on it. Without a doubt, he would fail miserably. Just because of his knowledge, Hypnos requested help from him? He was just an ordinary guy. Since he already saw his memories, can't the god just use them however he likes and just doesn't bother him anymore?
He wasn't even certain that he would be still alive when this world's culling happened. The god of dreams just said that it was short. He didn't even specify the exact date and year. Maybe he would be dead at that time. At the thought of his death, Jason felt his stomach-churning.
He was a coward. Not wanting to deal with a very horrible situation but also being uncomfortable with the thought of dying. He was just a normal human. Isn't it normal for humans to be afraid of their death and worry for their survival?
The answer is difficult to grasp. But Jason thought that the answer is "Yes". Yet, he never expected that there was also some equation involved in his situation. After waking up, and discovering his elements. Aristaeus and Jason continued to discover his magic talent and capability.
Thinking of the elements and the origin that Jason acquired, he also thought that it made sense for Jason right now and the Iason of Greek Mythology to be like this.
It was surprising but not surprising at the same time to discover something like that.
Survival— One of his origins. Perhaps, specifically, it was Iasōn's Origin. The original owner of this body possesses this kind of Origin. Ever since he was transported to this world, the thought of Iason's fate and death terrifies him. Jason thought that it was just natural not to want to end up like Iason since he knew his end. He never thought that it was also the origin affecting him.
According to what he read once in the fate lore, Origin was the starting point that defines one's existence and thoughts throughout life. A driving force that takes material form. It was like a compulsive behavior and instinctive action that drives human beings. It was said that once a person awakens their origin, it becomes nearly impossible to stray from their Origin.
After Aristaeus and Jason learned his element, they continued to decipher his magic. Then it leads to also discovering that Jason has three origins. First is survival. Originated from the original owner of this body. The second is Enigma. It confuses Jason since he has no idea how is this is his Origin in the first place. He doesn't think of himself as Enigmatic. But then, it was his second Origin. His true Origin. Finally, his third Origin– It shouldn't be possible to have multiple Origins in the first place; Jason didn't remember reading once in a wiki for someone to have multiple Origins. The 3rd Origin that Jason possesses is Chaos. Jason would like to have this Origin if possible. It was giving him bad vibes. Some of the characters that he read on the lore awakening their Origin become messed up in their heads. Possessing 3 origins— Jason wanted his sanity to remain. What would have 3 origins caused to his mind and soul?
What was even worse was that he learned from Aristaeus that he had the 3 of them already awakened. Specifically, Aristaeus decided that it had awakened one year or something like that. Jason has an idea when it has been awakened. Probably the time of his transmigration to Iason's body. When Aristaeus told him that, Jason then questioned if he had already awakened his Origin and why he didn't show any magic abilities.
Aristaeus theorized that it has to do with his unusual numbers of Origin. The Origins are clashing with each other. He even said that Jason's origins are too different from each other and there wasn't even a way on how they can be compared to each other. It was up to him to harmonize his 3 origins. After that, Aristaeus went from being serious to being just like his usual self around him.
" As expected of you, Diomedes. You are as interesting as always. Your Origins suits you. As well as your element. "
Sigh, just like his Origins. The elements are also quite a headache. The first element is charisma. Jason was certain that it belonged to Iason. Aristaeus noted that it was unusual but not quite as rare as Jason thought it to be. In this Age of Gods, there are many users of unusual elements lurking in this period. People who possess five elements are quite common, and from what the demi-god has told him, unlike how the wiki that he read describes how the Mage Association takes the importance of people possessing the ability to wield the 5 elements.
For Jason's second element, the Aether— it was what is known as the True Ether. Something common to encounter at this age. The 5th true theoretical facto is a magical energy that exists in this age of Gods and would eventually depleted when this age finally ends.
Jason has questioned Aristaeus how common the Aether (would be known as True Ether in the future) is because of curiosity and he just wanted to learn more about magic. Jason thought that it was natural a common sense since he was learning how to use magic. It was important to know a lot of things when it comes to Magic.
When Aristaeus answered his question, Jason regretted it. He wanted to erase it out of his mind. Aristaeus told him how Aether is found in nature and that the Gods are made in them. Aristaeus even told him that the people of Greece would probably be the ones who would possess the ability to wield Aether. Since Jason knows the fuckery that what was most Gods and Goddesses of Olympus are made of, he now knows how Jason or the original owner of this body could possess such an element. The 2nd element, Jason can confirm that it was definitely given to Iasōn, inherited from those Jerks.
Noticing his uncomfortable expression at that time, Aristaeus didn't even bother hiding the information that he was the messenger of God's great-grandson. And finally, his third element, and one that truly belongs to Jason, was the element Word. It belongs to the unusual elements. Through unusual at this age, it wasn't that something special to possess an uncommon element at this age. But Jason was happy when he learned what is his third element. Word— something that was vague. But it was probably the biggest blessing and cheat ability that Jason would have. It's Konjiki no Word Master time!
