Chapter 32: The sealed evil under the sea

After the War against Sefar, The remaining Titans and Olympians united against one of their common enemies. Those evil and malicious beings... But it was more complicated than simply white and black. Good and Evil.

Those unknown beings were the epitome of unknown and madness. But their group happens to have 4 factions. 1 of those factions opposes the 3 factions on their desire to invade, corrupt, and destroy the Earth.

In that faction, there happened to be a traitor who betrayed their fellow companions. The traitor wasn't killed or destroyed.

Despite its crimes, its former companions didn't erase the traitor. It was sealed forever on its prison as its eternal punishment. In a dark, basalt-built citadel named Atherton.

It wasn't dead but sleeping. One day, it promise itself that it would rise again and manifest from its abyss. A blue 6-meter tall cyclops-like monstrosity. With the entire body covered entirely in crawling worms.

It... He was sealed under the sea. His name is Nyctelios. The one who was buried under the Aegean Sea.

It was to Captain Arestor's expectations and his crew that their journey to Iolcus would remain peaceful. But as they arrive at the edge of the part of the Aegean Sea, the weather started to turn bad. From sunny and peaceful, to a sky filled with dark clouds and a breeze of strong winds. The calm sea is replaced by strong and violent big waves. Rain was continuously falling from the sky.

" How come we are unlucky to encounter a storm in the sea? "

One of the crew complained while he assisted in maneuvering the ship. Captain Arestor was giving orders one by one on the crew. All of them are busy and focused. In this stormy weather, there was a risk of them encountering a peril.

The sea is unpredictable. One moment it was peaceful. The next, it was dangerous and treacherous.

Jason was on the quarter deck of the ship while he was staring at Captain Arestor who was also contributing instead of just giving orders while shouting.

" Alexis! Inform me if you saw something unusual!! "

" Yes, Captain! "

In this heavy rain, all of their clothes and hair are already wet with a mix of saltwater and rain.  Now and then, there would be waves that would come to their ship.

Jason was shivering from the cold temperature and his soaked clothes. But he still persevered while gripping on the rails of the ship in the quarter deck while holding his staff. Jason was staring above Captain Arestor who was on the ratlines of the ship. Arestor ordered Jason to stay in the quarter deck and don't climb up from the ratlines. He was worried that Jason may as well be carried by the strong waves because of his small stature. So he was told to grip on the rails of the ship while the Captain helped his crew.

" Bless us Poseidon! God of the Sea! "

Jason heard one of the crew members shout those words. He grimace as he heard them. He may as well be the reason for this sudden change in Weather. Pelias was one of the many bastard sons of Poseidon. The current King of Iolcus. An unrightful king who has taken the throne from the Original's father and one of the key figures in the Argonautica.

Jason then stared at the Owl and the sheep who were also staying with him here in the quarter deck. The Owl was on the rails with her claws embedded firmly. Meanwhile, the sheep was on the ground cuddling at Jason's feet.

Unlike Jason, Captain Arestor, and the rest of the crew, both of the animals appear to not be drenched by the saltwater and rainfalls from the dark and cloudy sky. The crew and Captain Arestor are busy and focused on the threat of the stormy sea so that they haven't noticed the odd behavior of the two animals.

Jason knows who was the identity of these animals beneath their cuddly disguises. So far, since Jason has discovered their presence, they have been acting like normal animals. They didn't show anything special. The Captain and the crew are clueless about their true identities. Jason wondered why they are here. Are they here to just observe and for amusement?

Nonetheless, Jason picked up the sheep who keep cuddling on his feet. He then gestured to the owl.
She may have understood as she landed on flown to Jason's shoulders.

Jason would pretend that he doesn't know that they aren't just mere normal animals who wish to come along on his journey. He would act like a child who knows nothing and is clueless about the two of them.

" You two should go inside so that you may not get wet and sick. "

Jason intentionally muttered. He was certain that they heard and understand what he said.

Gripping his staff tightly, Jason channeled his Mana to the staff then muttered a chant. After that, warm energy enveloped the sheep and the owl.

After that, both the sheep and owl left on the quarter deck. Jason was glad that they have listened to him. It appears that the two gods in disguise are just observers and have no reasons to help Jason on his journey to Iolcus.

" Medes! Are you alright down there? "

He heard the Captain shout and asked in concern. Jason raise his staff and channeled Mana again on his staff.

" I am fine! "

He replied to the Captain as he felt his body enveloped in warm energy. Jason doesn't feel that his body was cold anymore. Instead, it was warm and comfortable. His clothes were also dry and the falling dews of stormy rainfall bounce off from them.

Jason then stomped his staff on the ground. Another Mana went through it again. And the Mana that was released from his staff went through the ship like a current with Jason as its source.

Eventually, Jason kneeled on the ground panting in exhaustion. He reinforced the whole ship using his mana so that it would withstand the big and violent waves of the sea. Jason closes his eyes as he feels tired. He was then lulled by the sound of his surroundings and lost consciousness.

In his unconsciousness, he heard the mad whispers and ramblings beneath the Aegean Sea.

There were indecipherable pleas and shrieks. But Jason could understand the meaning behind those sounds.

It cries of being let out and the desire for its freedom. A being was there proclaiming its name as Nyctelios.
