Chapter 40: A different Ship

Just like Aphrodite, Jason has received a successful Journey from his Great Grandfather and a blessing. Unlike Aphrodite who has given her blessing in the form of a Kiss, (Jason doesn't still discover what the fucking Kiss did to him) Hermes's blessing to him was in the form of gifts.

He has received a cape from Hermes.

" For you to travel so young... You're different from Heracles. So I must ensure that you have a successful journey and safe travels. It would be upsetting if you wouldn't return to your journey. You have taken many traits from me. Not just in some of your outward traits but with your mind and creativity! "

The Cape that was given to him is a cape created by Hephaestus using Hermes' Authority and blood from the Greek God of Deception Dolus. The Cape was capable of making him invisible and it also allows him to fly or walk in the air. It also enhances his speed greatly.

After receiving Hermes' blessing, it was unexpected for Jason to receive a blessing from Apollo. But maybe he should have expected it considering Paris's situation in the FGO. But since Apollo was known as the God of the protection of the young. Maybe Jason could think of Apollo's FBI worthy-of-arrest behavior as just him watching over and there was nothing suspicious...

Other than those reasons, Jason thought that he was given a gift by Apollo because of Chiron and Aristaeus. The blessing that he received from Apollo was a staff that enhances healing spells and it was blessed to ward off darkness and evil.

Finally, from Athena, Jason receives similarly styled clothes from the one that he created. According to her, the clothes that she has given to him would maintain an always clean state and it was also capable of accommodating the size of the wearer. Other than that, it was very durable clothes that were made of magical materials.

After giving their blessings both Apollo and Hermes eventually left like Aphrodite. Yet Athena would remain since Athens was her territory and she also wanted to help him find a shipwright.

One week after Jason was given the blessings from the 3 Olympus Deities, Athena returned to the port of Athens with both a familiar and unfamiliar face.

It was Arestor the captain of the ship that he once boarded upon going to Iolcus.

" Ah, Medes! It's you! I didn't expect to see you again! But should I still call you Medes or Diomedes? "

" Either way is fine for me, Captain Arestor. "

It was a pleasant but welcome surprise for Jason. Glancing curiously at the person beside the Captain, noticing the gaze, Arestor then went to introduce the person beside him.

" This is my son Argus, we are employed by Goddess Athena to build the ship for your journey Medes. With her guidance, I am certain that we would be able to make a splendid masterpiece of a ship that would be out of your expectations! "

Jason regretted asking Captain Arestor for the identity of his son. As they have said, curiosity has indeed killed the cat.

Even though Jason wasn't familiar with all of Greek Mythology. He has searched for the myths that were related to the Greek Servants in FGO in his past life.

With certainty and using his logic, Jason could tell that the Argus in front of him was the builder of the Argo ship of the Argonauts. Argus was also one of the members of the Argonauts.

" I'm honored on helping my father to build a ship that would help you in your endeavor and quest for the Golden Fleece. I pledge with my hands that I would put all of my efforts into building the ship! "

Jason gives the enthusiastic Argus a wan smile.

" Good luck. I'm sure that it would be definitely out of my expectations and would surprise me.. "

To the point of a heart attack.. was what Jason left unsaid. Jason then went to gaze at the sky as both the Father and son went to chat with the Goddess and enthusiastically listened to her opinions and praise her insight and knowledge.

At the end of the 2nd month, the ship that would sail for the quest of Golden Fleece has finished.

Gazing at the ship... Jason can already feel an ominous atmosphere for the future.

The Goddess of Knowledge and the pair of Father and Son then went to Jason who was staring at the ship in silence.

" What do you think, Medes? "

Captain Arestor asked him with a grin on his face.

" The ship is beautiful... I am very grateful for the help and effort that Captain Arestor and Argus put in for the ship. "

Jason then glance at Athena who was in her owl form again.

" I'm also grateful for your help, Goddess Athena. Without you, this magnificent ship wouldn't exist. Truthfully, I feel undeserving of manning this ship for my journey. "

The owl then hooted showing its disapproval at Jason's 'humbleness'. The owl then went to land on Jason's shoulders. When the Goddess landed on her owl form, Jason didn't flinch or wince when her sharp claws embedded themselves.

He was already used to it for the past months. Argus then decided to ask Jason one important thing.

" You would be the Captain of this ship once your journey for the Golden Fleece starts, but there is one important thing that you mustn't forget Medes. What would be the name of your ship? "

At the question, Jason stared at Argus in surprise. He then went to glance at the Goddess who was currently in her owl form.

" I am naming the ship? "

Argus scoffed.

" Yes, you are the Captain and you have the Goddess's permission to name the ship. "

" I see. "

Jason muttered. Then he gazes at the ship. Originally the ship was named Argo. According to the wiki it was named after Argus.

But since Jason was determined to have a different fate from the original one, then he wanted this ship to be also different even though he was feeling sorry and guilty for Argus.

" Then. I wish to name the Ship Euda. From the word Eudaimonia. I hope that my journey and everyone who would go with me on my selfish quest would be able to reach their happiness. "

Jason wouldn't end up on his journey in Tragedy. He would make certain of it.
