His eyes met mine and I was lost in the moment.
What is he doing here? To be exact, in front of me?
Flashbacks of memories began haunting me again and I really hated his presence right here. Was he trying to break me again? I made it this far despite his empty promises.
My eyebrows twitched and I brought my head up to look at him again. I smirked.
I formed my hands as if I was gripping an imaginary baseball bat and I wasted no time to launch at him.
One step, two steps, three steps, and I swung my arms at him, though I failed because the next thing I know he was already standing behind my back. He grabbed my arm and flipped me over. I was met with the mat face first.
I was getting angry over my lost that I wasted no time and stood up again, preparing for round two.
"Do you think getting angry would help? You lack of skill.. just saying," he stated but he was averting his gaze from me. "Chill, I was not even using fifty percent of my energy to beat you."
"Don't talk to me so casually like that. We aren't even that close," I stated and I could see a pang of hurt in his eyes, but they soon turned into challenging ones.
The next two hours were intense. Too intense that I didn't even realize it was just the four of us left in the room. Even the coach had gone home.
Yoongi And Hoseok had their mouths wide open while they watched me getting lost to Kim Tae.
I was once again met face first on the mat and I had both my hand held on my back by him. "8 rounds and you can't even beat me," he panted, following me to lie down on the mat.
"Both of you were fierce, it was like watching a fight against 2 tigers!" Hoseok yelled.
I forced myself to stand up despite my wobbly feet. I must have gone insane to even challenge 8 matches with him and never once win. I had no shame.
"I'll be at my house if both of you want to come." I turned my head towards Yoongi and Hoseok as I picked up my belongings before heading towards the door.
"Where are you going?" Hoseok questioned.
"Didn't you hear me? I'm going straight home. I'm tired," I sighed. It was just a mess and I was too tired to even change into my normal clothes. I needed some time to cool off my brain and think about what had happened today.
I took a glance at Kim Tae and he was no longer lying on on the mat. Instead, he was staring right at me I could feel shivers running down my spine.
I didn't want to get the wrong idea so I quickly left the room.
Just damn it, I'm dyeing my hair black tomorrow.
It was very sickening to know that the reason I never wanted to dye my hair back to its original colour was because of him.
"I thought you left." Hearing those 4 words was enough to make me heave a deep sigh and turned around, only to be met again with the eyes I once adored.
"It's none of your business, why are you even back?" I replied sarcastically, "And more importantly, why are you at my school?!"
He looked hesitant to answer me but he brushed it off with a shrug. "I never knew you're studying here though. I only followed my father's order."
"You're still a tomboy, aren't you?" He asked.
"Shut up Kim Tae, it doesn't matter whether I'm a girly girl or a tomboy. J-Just stay out of my sight," I deadpanned before running away from him.
Why is he so different? It was like he didn't even remember what sweet words he said before leaving me in such a complete mess. I even promised myself to look like a tomboy my whole life because he called me cute.
"Stupid, you're stupid." I hit my head as I headed home.
I took a cold shower which I interpreted as a meditation to calm my inner self. Ha, been needing this for so long. I've always had hot showers and the feelings were just different.
I was already on my bed when I couldn't help but reached out my hand to grab the only complete family photo I had on the bedside table.
I was about to get more emotional until I heard a thundering sound coming from my living room. It sounded like a bunch of robbers just barged in and I was getting ready to show off my taekwondo skills.
"Claire! Claire!" Wait. Wasn't that Yoongi's voice?
"Help us with this fat drunkard at least," it was now Hoseok whining.
I widened my eyes in disbelief upon seeing Yoongi and Hoseok struggling to keep Kim Tae standing as he was completely drunk.
His red necktie was loosen and yeeted to the back. The top two buttons of his uniform were gone and he had this smug look on his face as he eyed me.
"Hey! I did told you to come, but not with HIM!" I shouted angrily.
"Do you have any idea in mind about what he made us do while you were gone? Obviously you don't! Once you exited the taekwondo room he immediately picked a fight with us- I mean he challenged us to beat him but we refused so he got furious and flipped both of us in a sitting position. I'm sure you don't even want to experience the pain. Next, he forced us to have a drink with him but turns out he is the one getting drunk like this. Lastly, he forced us to bring him to your house. If not, he threatened to kick us on where the sun doesn't shine. Oh my god I'm so tired I feel like my heart is- my heart is-" Hoseok couldn't even finish his sentence because I was quick to slap him on the head.
"What are you both thinking? I don't care if he picked a fight with you or he got drunk. But bringing him into my house is completely restricted!" I yelled, apparently too loud that it caused Kim Tae to sober up a little.
He shifted from his position, no longer needing Yoongi and Hoseok to keep him standing on his two feet.
"Claire I just- thought I'd hawve some fun wiwth you," he stumbled towards me.
Before I could even react, he rested his head on the crook of my neck. His hands were neither touching me or hugging me so he was basically just leaning forward looking like a frustrated kid.
I was caught up in shock upon getting the idea of what was happening right now but it was not too late to kick him on his guts.
He was forced to step backwards because of the strong impact and he landed butt first on the floor.
"You should know better, Kim Tae. I never want to deal with your shits ever again."
