Third Person's POV
Everyone had practically went back to doing their own business, be it real business or just actually finding counterfeit entertainment to divert themselves from the overwhelming mess that was pretty much meeting no end soon.
Ayeong, unfortunately, was the one to stress out the most, resulting a big drop in the company due to her defocus at work.
"I'm not the type with long term memories but the last time you gave me a stress-relieving massage was more than 5 years ago..."
"Nonsense!" Exclaimed Claire whilst suppressing a laugh.
Both her hands landed harshly on her mother's shoulder blades. A loud but satisfied groan occurred afterwards.
"At least you're making it up for my bad day, sweetie. That's all that matters."
Claire sighed as she poked her head to take heed for a mere second, expectedly catching a glimpse of her mother in distress.
"We have to stay strong, mom. Can't stress like this all day. Everything will be okay, I promise. Cheer up?"
"Buy me soju then I'll cheer up. I feel like the worst both mother and wife right now!"
Claire hated seeing her mother swallow all the blame herself, at least not when she worked her butt off to make them a living, though they were nothing near poor in general.
"But you're a great mother! I mean you tend to get a little too overprotective of me but you're doing your job well!"
At that, Ayeong threw her head back and shut her eyes.
She, for once, knew more than anyone that she neglected her family a lot to run for what was the most important for them ; the company. At times she would feel as if her husband was still alive and yelling for help, but the thoughts in her head that the possibility was never more than just a mere mistake, forced herin deciding not to think about it and let herself get deep into work instead.
However, she had late determination in not allowing this mysterious riddle destroy her family, though that term wouldn't apply now since the only family member she had left was her own daughter ; a free-spirited one.
"Tell me something honest, sweetie. Having you dealing with the officers yourselves and not me makes me a great mother? Darling, that's one fat no-no. I am supposed to care about my family more than the stupid work."
