A night at the police station

"Miss, please wait. Officer Jeon will be the one in charge for your case. He's still in the property room." The police officer tried to calm me down as he guided me and Taehyung towards the waiting area for the nth time.

"I've got no time for waiting. Do you people here work as you wish!?" I screamed through gritted teeth. Taehyung tried to hold me back since I was so close to hitting the officer with the gun in his duty belt.

It had been almost an hour of waiting and I kept stomping back to the reception desk but this damned Officer Jeon was taking a decade to show up.

"Claire, we're here to ask for help," Taehyung reminded me. I glared at the officer once more before forcing myself to sit back on the chair. He gave me a judging gaze before leaving the area.

What a prick.

"You sure you don't need your mother to know? We're kind of still eighteen you know..," Taehyung trailed off, probably getting the idea that I wasn't in the mood for talking.

"I'll let her know once she's home," I replied.

I scanned my surroundings and everything looked foreign. Knowing that I was in the same place with hundreds of criminals, killers, drug dealers, rap— I didn't even want to think about it.

I suddenly locked eyes with one of the prisoner inside the jail cell. He smirked at me with an intense gaze that I would never want to see. The look of a psychopath.

Normally, I would've picked a fight and started an intense staring contest with whoever stranger it was, but not today.

Tears of frustration streamed down my face as I looked down to my feet. My thoughts were just as disorganised as my body. It kept trembling even if I tried to regain my composure.

Taehyung sighed as he faced me, gathered my hands into his before unexpectedly kneeling down on one knee.

"Claire, look at me." His voice was soft and comforting, his eyes waiting for me to meet his.

"I'm sorry," I voiced out but it came out as a complete mess which was barely audible.

There I was, stupidly bawling in front of Taehyung for the second time. I wasn't this weak back then, not even when he left me to the US. Well I did cry for a week but then everything suddenly went numb and now that he was back, problems just suddenly began coming towards my way.
