Chapter 16: Moving Hosts

"What's going on here?"

Back in Portland, Oregon. At least, for Russel and Daveed. It was Travis Scott and Kid Cudi's first time seeing the Helstroms, and they definitely weren't ready.

But when they entered Saint Teresa's, it is seemed like the family knew they were coming, and that they were ready for them.

Daimon, Ana, Victoria and Dr. Hastings were standing in the main lobby, talking to each other when they saw the group.

"Russel!" Ana exclaimed, rushing over to him.

"What are you doing here?" She asked.

"First of all, these are our friends Travis and Scott. Why don't you tell her what's going on?" He motioned for Cudi to start the conversation, but Ana was one step ahead of him.

"Mother's still alive."

Scott looked at her like she just read his mind. "How did you know exactly what I was gonna say?"

"Victoria figured it out."

She gestured to the guys to come over to where the rest of her family was standing.

"You're back already?" Hastings asked worriedly.

"We found out the same thing you guys did." Daveed chimed in. "Scott here has connections to the moon, and since Mother's host was connected to a werewolf, he felt something a little strange."

"I knew her body was dead, but Mother wasn't there. She escaped."

"I feel that too. She was inside me for so long... I don't want that to happen again." Victoria said.

"It won't, don't worry." Daimon reassured. "We'll make sure of that."

He turned to the others. "So, you're here to help?"

"That's what Terra wanted us to do. He also just wanted to make sure you guys were ok." Russel informed.

"We're fine." Daimon responded quickly.

Victoria put her hand on her son's shoulder. "We're not fine. I just recovered from years of possession by Mother and I don't know how to deal with the fact that I haven't seen my children in so long that... Sorry, I just really want to put this behind me."

"We all do." Russel replied. "That's why we're here. Now... Where do we start?"

"Ok, so we know Mother has allies, right?"

"I exorcised one of her servants, Magoth a while before you came, back when she was still in Victoria. I'm not sure who the other ones are, but they don't like to be messed with."

Travis stepped in and turned towards Russel. "Hey, what about those Unversed things that are supposedly popping up everywhere?"

Russ had forgot about the Unversed for a second, but now he remembered that he had to tell the Helstroms about that too.

"The what?" Hastings repeated.

"The Unversed." Daveed stepped in. "They're dark creatures that could be coming up from below because of Mother. But that's just a theory, it's probably not her."

"So, these things are a problem that we might face while fighting Mother?" Daimon suggested.

"Terra and Aqua are out taking care of them right now, so I'd say no."

"If they appear, we'll make sure they're gone." Ana replied.

"Alright, here's what we're going to do." Daimon started. "Ana and I are going with Russel and his friends to find anything or anyone that has to do with Mother and her minions. Hastings, keep my mom safe."
