"Hey, can you help me take off my shirt?" Spencer asks with an exhausted sigh. I nod, reaching and pulling his arms out of the armholes, then pulling the collar over his neck carefully, pulling the shirt all the way off.
"I hate not being able to do the simplest things by myself." He says, sitting on the counter as I change the dressing of his wound.
"You're an independent man, Spence. It's completely normal for you to feel that way, but you need to understand that you're injured. Even the most independent man would need someone to help them take off their shirt." I stick the covering onto his neck and cup his cheeks.
"Thank you, Bryn." Spencer smiles genuinely, leaning in and kissing me passionately.
"Mommy, Daddy, when are we leaving? I want to meet Jack and Henry and Michael." Atlas asks, making us pull apart.
"Let us finish getting ready and we can go, okay?" Spence says and Atlas nods, walking away sadly.
I laugh, walking out of the bathroom and getting dressed into a pair of jeans and a dark green tight short sleeve turtle neck that only goes up half my neck and to the waistline of my jeans, pairing it with a white ribbed jacket that has small brown buttons and a pair of ankle boots.
Spencer gets dressed in his normal outfit, a pair of regular slacks and a button-up. Today's colors were black pants and a green button-up, matching my top.
"I- you- we match." I point out and he looks between us both, laughing.
"Apparently so." He chuckles, grabbing my hand and pulling me out of our room and into the living room, where Atlas is sitting.
"Come on, kiddo." I grin as he jumps off the couch.
He's dressed in a cute button-up shirt and a pair of blue jeans with his sneakers.
It takes 25 minutes to get to David's house, where everyone in the team is, including Aaron's son and JJ's two sons. Alex decided to teach full-time, so she had to move somewhere else.
Aaron hasn't found a replacement yet, on number 3 already.
Atlas runs around back, hearing the joyful screams of the kids. Spencer and I both walk around back, our hands holding each others in a tight grasp. Atlas immediately runs to the other kids, engrossing himself in a conversation that none of us can understand.
"And the two bookworms show up!" Derek shouts, holding his drink in the air.
"It's only 6, D, are you sure you should be drinking?" I joke, patting his back.
"I know you did not!" He jokes back.
"Okay, so since we're all 10 years behind, we all talked and we want to get to know you better, so sit down and pop a bottle while Spencer goes and watches the kids," JJ says, waving off Spencer's shocked face.
"You've had her for years. It's our turn, baby." Penelope says.
"You've known her longer than the rest of the team!" Spence defends.
"Shut your knowledgeable mouth, pretty boy. It's our turn, besides you love kids, shoo." Dave cuts in.
"Alright, first of all, do you have any water? I don't drink." I clap my hands and everyone stares at me.
"You are Spencer's wife." Aaron breathes.
"Honey, are your work friends always this mean to you?" I call out to him joking as he does a cool magic trick to the four boys.
