Spencer Reid

"Spencer," she cries, wrapping around me.

"I'm here now, baby. I'm here." I whisper, placing my hand on the side of her belly.

"It hurts." She whimpers and I pull back slightly.

"Have they given you the epidural yet?" She nods her head and I wipe her cheeks with my thumb. "How long ago was that and how dilated are you?"

"Like ten minutes ago. Last time they checked, I was 5." She calms slightly, taking a shaky breath.

"Okay. Sweetheart, it's going to be another ten minutes before it kicks in." I tell her and her eyes close as she lets out a small sob. "I know, baby. It sucks."

Penelope stands up and grabs her bag.

"I'm gonna go. If you want, I can take Harlow and then once Atlas gets out of school, I can get him." She says.

"That works. You can go back to our house just so you have everything already. Thank you so much, Garcia. I appreciate everything you do." I hug her, kissing her head.

"Anything for my pretty couple." She grins, walking over to hug Bryn.

"Thank you, Pen. I genuinely don't know what I would have done without you." Bryn says, calming as the epidural seems to have set in a bit more.

"Oh, I'm always here for you and the kids. Don't worry about it. I love you guys." She waves our gratitude off.

"Love you, too, Pen." Bryn smiles.

"Yeah. Love you." I hug her again before she picks up a sleeping Harlow in her car seat.

I kneel down and kiss her head before we all say our goodbyes before she walks out.

Bryn turns onto her side, patting the bed next to her. "Come here."

I lay down, letting her cuddle her top half into me. She lays her head on my chest, wrapping her arms around my torso.

"You feeling better?" I ask and she nods.

"That's good, baby." I mumble, resting my cheek against her hair.

"Hey- oh," Ryel says and I laugh softly.

"Hey." Bryn says, sitting up. I stand.

"Hey, I just wanted to come in and check up on everything. I'm glad to see you're here." She turns to me.

"Me too. I'm sorry I couldn't be here any sooner." I grab Bryn's hand and she smiles up at me. I bring our hands up to my lips and kiss her hand.

"Im gonna check you again, okay?" Ryel says and she nods, getting in position and she check.

"Okay, you're at 7 and a half. We're getting there!" Ryel grins, smoothing the blanket back over the edge of the bed.

"I just gotta say, I'm excited now that this epidural kicked in and Spence is here." Bryn grins and I laugh.

"1, 2, 3, 4, 5-" a piercing cry fills the room.

"You have your baby girl up first." Ryel says, setting our newborn daughter on Bryn's chest.

"She's so pretty. Congratulations, guys." April says, sucking some gunk out of her throat.

"Dad, cut the cord?" I nod at Ryel, grabbing the scissors out of her hand, cutting next to the plastic.

"I'm gonna go ahead and take her so that you can focus on your son, okay?" Bryn nods at April, letting her take the baby off of her chest, bringing her over to one of the beds for the babies.
