Bryn Reid

"I love you two, okay? I'll be around when I can." I kiss both of the kids' heads before standing straight.

"Love you, mama." Atlas says and Harlow gurgles in Lyndsay's hands. Lyndsay is the worker today for the daycare at the hospital I'm working at.

Spencer left on a case 6 days ago, meaning it's just been me and the kids for a bit.

"Bye. Thank you." I wave as I walk out, making my way to the staff room to change into my scrubs.

"Oh my goodness! You're Bryn Reid aren't you?" I hear someone gasp from behind me and I turn, seeing a woman with glasses and short blonde hair.

"Um I am. Do I know you?" I ask awkwardly.

"I don't think so. I'm Megan Cooper, the chief just told me about you and I was really excited. We don't get new staff very often, but I was out sick." I nod in understanding.

"This is kind of perfect. Do you know where we change into our scrubs?" I ask and she nods, setting her clipboard down and walking alongside me.

"We call it the locker room just because there are lockers in there and it reminds us all of high school." She explains. "So, when are you due?"

"I'm 33 weeks with twins, so literally anytime." I laugh.

"What are you doing here then? You should be home with your husband or wife based on the ring on your finger." She says, her brows furrowing.

"This is my last shift before they let me stay home until after maternity leave. And yes, husband, but he's not even home. He's in Atlanta."

"What's he doing there?" She questions.

"He's working. He travels sometimes for his job. He should be coming back any day." I shrug as we stop in front of an open door.

"Understood. I feel like we're gonna be good friends." She suggests and I nod with a small laugh.

"Agreed. Thank you. I'll uh come and find you after, yeah?"

"Yeah."

She walks off and I walk into the room, changing out of my sweats and sweatshirt. I'm left in a pair of maternity tight shorts and a white long sleeve as I step into my scrub pants and slip on my shirt.

"Who are you?" A man asks as he walks over to a locker a few down from me. He has orange hair and bright green eyes as he changes into his own scrubs.

"Bryn Reid. I've been here for a few weeks." I answer, shoving my bag of my clothes into an empty locker as I throw my stethoscope around my neck.

"Oh. I'm Oliver. I haven't seen you around at all." He shrugs his shirt on.

"The hospital it pretty big. I haven't seen you around either." I laugh lightly as my phone rings. "Sorry."

"Hey, honey." Spence says as I answer the call in the corner.

"Hey, Spence. I'm at work." I whisper, not wanting Oliver to hear me.

"Oh, I'm sorry. I was just calling to say that we just solved the case and we're heading back now." He says and I stifle a happy gasp.

"Oh my gosh! That's amazing! I've missed you."

"I've missed you guys, too. I should be home in like 2 hours tops, so do you want me to swing by and grab the kids?"

"Yeah. I don't want them in daycare for all of my shift. Plus, I can see you when you get here."

"Well, I'm gonna let you get back to work, baby. I love you."
