Alex's POV

"Alex, what do you look like?"

Calum and I were hanging out again, at his house this time. I was spread out on the floor and Calum laid on his bed as All Time Low blasted from his speakers. My eyebrows furrowed in confusion at his random question.

"What?"

"Describe yourself to me," he said. "I want to get a mental picture of what you look like."

"Okay?" I laughed a little, unsure of where this sudden request was coming from. "Well I'm a seventeen year old Caucasian female with blonde hair and brown eyes."

"Brown eyes?" he asked, the surprise evident in his voice.

"Yeah?" I said slightly defensively, my response coming off much ruder than I had intended.

"Sorry, it's just most blondes have blue eyes," he got up from his previous position of lying on his back and sat Indian style on his bed. "You just surprised me that's all."

"It's okay," I sighed. I hated my eye color, I envied anyone with bright eyes. "I wish I had blue eyes, brown is such a boring color."

"What do you mean?"

"Brown eyes look like poop," It was a childish way to describe my eye color, but I meant it. Brown eyes looked good on most people, but in contrast to my light hair they just looked dull.

"Hey watch it! I have brown eyes too you know!"

"You do?" Brown was the color I assumed his eyes to be, but I'd never seen them so I couldn't too sure.

"Yeah, are you blind too?" he chuckled.

"No, but you're always wearing those sunglasses," I pointed out.

Calum's hand reached up to his face and touches his glasses, running his fingers on the rims as if he'd never felt them before.

"Damn," he muttered. "I always forget I'm wearing these stupid things."

"Here," a slight giggle escaped my lips as I got up from the ground and sat next to him on his bed, my arms already extending to his glasses. I brushed his hands off so that I could get a grip on the cool plastic. Gingerly, I slid them off of his head to reveal his whole face.

My breathe hitched.

Calum was gorgeous. Of course I had always found him at least somewhat attractive, but I had never actually seen his whole face. His eyes slowly fluttered open and I could see his warm brown eyes staring blankly ahead. His nose looked bigger without the glasses, but it still complimented his features perfectly. My eyes flicked back and forth all over his tan face, observing it while I could.

"Alex?"

"Yes?" I squeaked.

"You're not breathing."

"Oh, I -uh, um," My face heated up with embarrassment as I struggled to find words. "How do you know?"

"I heard you stop," Calum stated, as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. I suppose it was fairly obvious though. I was aware that losing one sense made your other senses stronger, so logically Calum should have better hearing. "Are my eyes pretty?" Calum teased after I didn't reply.

"You have nice brown eyes," I stared at his eyes, observing their almost milky quality. They say eyes are the window to the soul, but Calum's soul windows must have their shades up because I saw nothing. No emotion, no twinkle in his eye. They just blankly stared ahead, and to be honest it was beginning to make me uncomfortable.
